World Map With New Governments!!! V1.02 Okay, to Install, extract (after backing up) the civilopedia.txt and the pediaicons.txt files to:- ?:\civilization III\text and put the 'GromitmodV1.02.BIC' in a directory of your choosing (just make sure you remember where it is). and you are ready to go!!! For best effects, use with the Superb terrain and The Era PCX mods, if you aren't already. Unfortunately, it clashes with the Wondersplash PCX mods. Also, it's not in the mod but I thought about giving either Settlers and/or Workers a pre-requisite, any thoughts anyone has on that might be interesting to hear. Here is the list of changes (original and revised):- BIGGEST CHANGE - USING NEW MAP! By Marla Singer. - Was using Earth [Real].bic, can't remember who it was by, sorry. I decided to stick it in anyway. It's a good map in my opinion. - Also, got rid of that annoying caption when you load it, the 'tell me you don't like it...' thing. New Governments:- Witan - Req. Writing* National Socialism - Req. Nationalism Theocracy - Req. Monotheism Eco State - Req. Ecology all stuff us now FULLY integrated into the civilopedia (if you find something I've missed, please tell me). - Some ruler (you) titles have been changed for the existing governments in the advisor screen - Romans and Barbarians have had their colours switched, small change I know but white Legionaries look cool IMO. - Antarctica Summit** (requires Recycling, 15 research labs and can only be built by an Eco State) replaces Longevity instead of Universal Suffrage to reflect less pollution leading to higher population growth rate. Gives Solar Plant to all cities on continent. Clears pop pollution and reduces bldg pollution in city. Gives Recycling Centre to all cities. Added effects of Longevity. Allows Diplomatic Victory. - Forbidden Palace can only be built by a Monarchy. - U.N. allows diplomatic victory, reduces war weariness in all cities and is now only available to Democracies. - Sistine Chapel Requires 10 Cathedrals, silks and gems and can only be built by Theocracies. - Riechstag*** Requires National Socialism and three armies in the field, replaces palace, reduces War weariness (where built), resistant to propaganda. It also allows spy missions, larger armies and golden age for militaristic civs. - Apollo Program now requires 5 research labs. - Hospital +1 Happy face. - Cure for Cancer doubles Hapiness of Hospitals. - Added Great Library effects to SETI Program to kinda simulate Extra Terrestrial Contact. - Heroic Epic Increases leader appearance and allows Larger armies. - Battlefield medicine allows larger armies in addition to healing in enemy territory. - Entertainers require Ceremonial Burial. - Tax Collectors require Currency. - Scientists require Writing. - Unit Experience levels now as follows:- Conscript 5hp Regular 7hp Veteran 9hp Elite 12hp - Whales give 3 food instead of 1. - Horses and Spices give 1 food instead of none. (apparently no-one in civworld eats curry or cinnamon donuts) - Barbarian Unit changes:- Basic Unit - Worker (settlers don't found cities unfortunately) Advanced Unit - Rider Naval Unit - Galleon N.B. I have made no changes to who can build what units or what their A/D/M ratings are with two exceptions: - Bombard units' ability has been raised to match the change in hit points - Scout/Explorer movement rate is now 3 *initially required Ceremonial burial but religious civs had a distinct advantage, changed to code of laws but I found that it was too close to Republic. **formerly 'Ecowarrior H.Q.' (It was the only thing I could think of at 3:00am) ***If someone could see their way to making a wonder splash picture and pedia art for this that would be very noce. OK, that's that cleared up... Sorry to bring you down, but I didn't want to have to post some sort of disclaimer on the forum. Besides which, if anyone can come up with a less Nazi Germany associated name, I'm all eyes. Thanks to: Marla for her map. Whoever the other person is for thiers The Civ communities of this site and Appolyton for all the juicy ideas that were toooo good not to use. If you want a deeper explanation of the new stuff, see the Civilopedia, it's all there. I hope you like it and any criticism/ideas will be well received!!! SIGNED... Gromit.
