You didn't even read what I wrote, did you?

You haven't even expressed a reason to believe the GOP is racist. It's against things like affirmative action. Affirmative action is racist, and so that's an anti-racist position. Some of its members are in favor of fixing welfare in a way that will in fact help black people. Also not a racist position. I'm not sure of any other parts of the platform which are related to race relations.

As for that Colonel, his position was not all that special. If it were, it wouldn't be filled by an O-6, who would otherwise be some brigade commander or division staff *****. He's chief of staff of a department, not even a presidential nominee. Unless he wasn't active duty when he filled that position? I dunno. But really, the fact that you can find one guy to accuse the GOP of racism in the upper echelons of the federal bureaucracy does not shock me, and is not of consequence.

If you think that not having a racist platform means that there can't be any racism in a party, then you're an idiot. If you'd like some evidence then look no further than the anti-muslim rhetoric regularly spouted by numerous GOP figures.

No you don't know, he wasn't a military appointment in Powells Sec State role.

Stop being an arrogant dick, the guy worked alongside Powell and is saying that HIS OWN PARTY have a lot of racists. It's quite disgusting to see how easily you just write off anyone from your own side instead of maybe working with them to stamp out this insidious ****. Do you really want to be a member of an instituationally racist party, or have you got the balls to support reform?

Evidence for the assertion that he observed racists in his time. Who were they? What was the basis on which they were so accused? And so on. Also, open it on another thread.

The testimony of a highly placed Republican is evidence. The next logical step would be for the party to start asking questions and investigating what he claims. Obviously that would have to take place after the election not before. Want to place any bets on the chances of any kind of investigation? How about on the odds of the party doing exactly what Reg just did and just pretending nothing is wrong? I know where my money would go.

Okay, so if he was active duty military at the time, which apparently he was, then he was just filling some staff position like most O-6s do at that stage in their career. If it were a high level staff position then an O-7 or up would be filling it, probably an O-8 or up.

It's a relatively prestigious one, sure, but he's less special than a congressional representative, by a couple orders of magnitude.

What about all the people who worked alongside Powell who DON'T think the GOP is racist? Do their opinions count?

Condoleezza Rice worked alongside Powell! Bet she doesn't think the GOP is racist!

                      • I hate you all for 2 reasons: 1) This isn't the first time MrFun has posted **** from Facebook without checking his sources. Can you even be sure this quote is real? and finally 2) If it is a genuine quote, who cares? Do you really think the assertion that the only reason to be hostile to this Admin is racial?

Funny thing about racism, its a lot harder to accuse your own party/company/family/friends etc of being racist than it is to pretend there isn't a problem. When someone does have the courage to stand up and address it, it's pretty cowardly to just laugh them down.

How do you know what Rice thinks? Don't be naive.

Please stop being wrong about literally everything. He left the army in '97 and was Powells chief of staff between 2002-2005.
