  • That's right. I hate Asher, I really hate Molly Bloom, I am repulsed by the mere concept of Boris Godonov, and Mr. Fun is alright.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Which was: Republicans really do hate gay people.

      Oh, of course they do.

      • I don't think as a group they really hate gays; they just seem to be people who really don't like thinking for themselves and tend to do what their authority figures tell them to do. Mean while the "leadership" of the party has to keep finding "others" who they can demonize and blame for all the ills in the world. It was originally blacks, then the yellow peril, then blacks again, then immigrates from Latin America, and now gays. Without an enemy to polarize their gullible followers they know half of them wouldn't bother to show up (the die hards would but the die hards aren't numerous enough to win elections so they have to find more).

It's just an issue they use and they know conservatives are extremely fearful and scared people by nature so to motivate them they must constantly come up with new groups to hate and scare the masses with. They'd hardly ever win an election without such tactics.

What was wrong about proscribing marriage restrictions for blacks in form of anti-miscegenation laws? If those laws really were discriminatory, there still should not have been an issue because marriage is not a right.

            • What are you confused about? If marriage is not a right, then the US Supreme Court was out of bounds in ruling against anti-miscegenation laws.

                • The anti-gay marriage people don't think marriage isn't a right. They think that "gay marriage" isn't marriage. When a man asks if he can marry another man, that makes about as much sense to them as Stan asking for the right to have babies.

Ben Kenobi thinks marriage isn't a right. If marriage was a right, Kenobi thinks he could demand that anyone marry him. I've just demolished your argument.

And that makes no sense. That would be like saying, "Marriage is a right, but interracial marriage is not marriage." Marriage is marriage, period - to hang onto the definition of marriage as being exclusively between a man and a woman makes no sense, as even before gay marriage had been legalized in some states, gay people have ALREADY GOTTEN MARRIED symbolically and there are gay people who are ALREADY LEGALLY MARRIED in some states.

What is the difference between love and devotion between two men, and love and devotion between a woman and man besides gender?

                        • By the way, using that Monty Python video to try to conflate or confuse gender with sexual orientation as if they are the same, is completely retarded.

If that's the assertion, that is equally retarded.
