Now it's Yang, Pirates, Uni, and Consciousness...

Now I wonder if we'll get enough support for all of those factions to be well populated.

Personally, I would consider keeping it to three. However, do not take it that only 4 people will join the most populous factions. Remember that there are all those people who voted for factions that won't make it, and thus each of the 4 factions will get more people than just those voting for it. If we start with ~20-25 people, even if a third leave, we still have ~5 per faction. And the Hive only needs one to run. I think it will be fine. And if it isn't, just start an SMAX regular game instead (on Transcend this time).

If we end up with CyCon, Hive, UoP and Pirates, that could be fun. We have both builder and conquerer factions, both FM and Planned, both Knowledge and Power, both Democracy and Police State. Looks like a good mix, and would be a good game IMHO

How about we have the 4 (or 3) losing factions as computerised opponents? That would give us Morgan, Angels and Gaians/UN. Personally, I'd rather skip Angels and have Spartans against us, but I'm not too fussed about that.

AMEN brother Drogue - I second this idea for the "runners-up" to be the AI factions. I'd also rather see the Spartans than the Angels against us.

I still don't know who to vote for. I want both the Hive and CyCon in it, and UoP will obviously get through. If we have 4, it doesn't really matter which I vote for, however if we decide to only have 3, I don't know who to vote for

Threw in my voice for UoP. Love those guys. I could live with Morgan or the Cyborgs as well.

Now that I got my SMAX cd back, I can probably participate in round two for real. That'll be fun.

That is if we want for. I would still advocate taking only 3, since we want to make sure that we have enough people. However I suppose 4 is sensible too.

I think UoP, CyCon and The Hive can bve presumed to be through, but the Angels might get another vote. I think lets leave anything official, but if people want to start organising which faction they want to be in, that would be fine. They'll be plenty of time though, because we have to have another poll after this for which factions to play against. Is it possible to randomise which factions we are against? I think not knowing could be quite fun. You never know who you'll meet

That's indeed possible.

Though when you check F1 - Factions you can see your opponents immediately. And the danger with selecting random is that we might get stuck with only one alien, instead of zero or two.

a CMN is the person who sets up, moderates, keeps passwords to, etc. a PBEM. and as i just recently found out, it stands for creator/moderator/narrator

Random, Miriam, Morgan, Gaia, Sparta... There are lots of disagreements about who will be the other sparring partners, so a poll seems in order. Just one question: are the Pirates in or out of this game? We need to know the human factions for sure before starting a poll on who are the AI factions.

I think we should go for three human factions instead of 4

First it will make the team composition larger per faction.
There would be three distinct human factions.
We also have to demonstrate that a PBem Dg is possible, playable and enjoyable

At this late stage, my vote needs to go to one of the current "winners".

Lessee..

Cybernetic Consciousness? No - want a different path than researching ahead of everyone.

University of Planet? Ditto.

Hive? Well, we are going warmonger in the Civ2 and Civ3 Demo games, could be a good way of experiencing SMAX like I never have before... I think I like war as well. Thank Civ3 for something...

Pirates? VERY Unorthodox play style - could be great. I definitely WANT to use these guys sometime

For the moment I'd have to go Hive. Pirates next game.

I'd say go for 3 two. Maniac, I agree for the poll, but we do have 4 factions to go against us, I was just showing a few others that could work, IMHO.

Personally I'll vote Pirates, Morgan, Gaians and Mirium for opposing factions. This is going to be good

If the Pirates get one or two more votes to overtake Cycon, that would make for a good three team contrast.

I think, if those including me, who voted for Data Angels, Gaians, could revote then it would be the Pirates. Then again there are still a good few days left in this poll, Sinder Roze may pull through yet. Shows you my quandary.
