    Hi

Well, I've been buying a lot of music in the net recently, and I got to the point that as Genesis' and King Crimson's fan, I should get to know other prog-rock bands as well. I am disappointed with Yes. But ELP, I don't know them at all. Well, I even saw a cd of them for a reasonable price, but their look, I think it was on the beach with their naked chests, well, kind of made me stop thinking about buying any of their music for some time. Which one of these should I buy?

ELP - Then And Now (2 CD)

    Or perhaps some else?

I liked ELP "Brain Salad Surgery" best... I also saw them do it live, so that is probably why I like it so much.

I thought this was an Emerson Lake & Powell thread.

          ELP "Brain Salad Surgery"

You've hit on a much under-appreciated band, IMO.

A few years back my wife and I went to the "old folks concert"... featuring Jethro Tull and ELP was the warm up act. Thanks to JRabbit, we got great free seat about 20 rows back and dead middle. The average age of the concert goer must have been 40

It was a great show and we had a wonderful time.

Can Ian Anderson still play his flute with an oxygen mask on?

That... he can still do. However, his singing is a different matter. His voice just isn't what it used to be.

I thought he was asking for elp with something.

I guess it is emerson lake and palmer. I think they have one song I like. I'm not that familiar with them.

"Love Beach" is regarded as far and away their worst album.
Trilogy and Brain Salad Surgery are regarded as their best.

I can't help it, I'm stuck in a site full of nerds who listen to geek music.
