  • Quest For Glory Five-Who do I save, Katrina or Erana?

For those of you who have played it-im a paladin and I know I can marry either, who should I save?

For those of you who havent played Quest for glory 5(or its predecesors) it is an RPG. #5 is the last in the sceries where you are competing to become a king, at one point one of the "tests" is to go into hades and while there your prescence disturbs the rest of Erana and Katrina.

Katrina is/was an evil vampire who tried to trick you into letting loose an extra-dimentional evil which would take over the world, but at the same time she loved you and at the end of the ritual to release the demon(game #4) her partner(Ad Avis, a vampire wizard) tried to kill you when he was done with you, but Katrina jumped infront of a spell ment for you, dying in the process(you then kill ad avis and stop the demon).

Some other people tried to release the demon 50 years earlier but an army lead by a paladin and the mage Erana stopped it......however as Erana banished it she was trapped in another dimension with the demon-when you kill Ad Avis the demon is banished again and Erana's soul is set free(she says hi, then goes to the afterlife).

Erana also made alot of magical gardens and places of saftey in Quest for glory 1-4 which help you alot, though you never meet her till(and then only briefly at the end of) quest for glory 4.

Whichever person you pick comes back to life, and the other is destroyed(as they would never be able to rest in death after you came back, they'd think of you forever).

    Who do I save?

Erana who is pure and good, or Katrina who reformed herself and deserved a second chance? You CAN choose to save neither and both their souls are destroyed, but im not gonna do that.

    Cant decide-gah!

Been a while since I played QFG5, and I only played as a Paladin a few times, but...

Both can teach you a spell, but neither is all that useful to a Paladin, IMO.

I vote Erana; I think she deserves it more - she doesn't NEED a second chance, she's still on her first - and she'll probably do a lot more good for the world.

(on a tangent) I was very disappointed when I went back to retry QFG 4 and found it wouldn't run on my new PC. I'd always planned to keep poking away at it until I got past where I was stuck. Its been my approach to a lot of good adventure games. Install once a year and see if any new inspiration strikes
To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection.

Save the game there and rescue them both and play the game out both ways if it is a mjor decision for you.

Yeah, QFG4 is full of bugs.

Are you using the DOS version? If so, Mo'slo worked for me, though I did still have some random crashes.
