  • On the Lack of Colours in Texture.pcx

I have converted the file successfully to the palette in palette.pcx. But when I tried to add a different terrain I found out the hard way why the palette had that many colours.

The cool elevations were using recolouring and shading algoriths that simply took the next colour in the palette. So, if you had yellows directly follow the greens, greens would appear until a certain altitude and then the yellows would take over. Very annoying.:-)

I'm trying to replace a picture of a faction leader with a jpeg-file (brother Lal with Bruce Springsteen)within the pcx-file, but it leaves very poor quality with Pain Shop Pro. Can anybody help ?

Try finding a different picture of him that better matches the colours in the game. Something dark, reddish and/or aquamarinish would probably be best.:-)

Elevation shadings? I dunno about elevation, but depth shadings are controlled by a list of numbers at the bottom of system.txt, no?
