I've just added three people to my Ignore list and I am wondering if it was a bit rude of me. Are there any pitfalls that I should avoid with the Ignore procedure?

It's obviously a bit snarky to tell somebody that they're on your ignore list, but considering that the person is on your ignore list they might deserve a bit of snarkiness.<p style="font-size:1024px">HTML is disabled in signatures

Ask them a question directly, and if they don't reply...
But basically, the person can't really tell that they are on your ignore list, so it is more of a personal sort of thing. It (presumably) makes your 'Poly experience just that much more pleasant, and doesn't cause much harm to whoever you are ignoring.I'm building a wagon! Why not scan through their posts?
Ignore is way more obtrusive, and everybody quotes each other anyways.

That's the problem -- usually it's impossible to ignore the people that you want to ignore, since they're obnoxious trolls that everybody feeds.
