one on ACS - I tend to do most of my browsing in tabs. Although, it is still taking time to fully migrate over even though I have been using Mozilla for over a year now (or around that long).

I usually surf in Poly in one window, sometimes I may open another one to quickly check something out. I am on Poly for the better part of the day from work. I often open other IE windows to surf on other sites but I rarely close the Poly window because I keep checking the Forums out.

My personal record was 18 (stupid support site kept opening new ones before I realized I had that many open), but typically 6-10, several here, CivFanatics, and 1BC; then Yahoo, a few other places.

    40? Wow.

My current most often used configuration is, for performance reasons, four Eterm windows with eLinks in one or two of them. Usually one is at Apolyton. So, I guess that makes one browser window only. I usually use two or three with Opera, but it all depends on the performance - if the computer is fast enough to switch between ten windows without noticeable lag, I'll use ten windows.

nah, the answers are so varied that a poll would be too restrictive. Besides, I wasn't especially inspired to create a cool banana option. Hm... "I only open bananas", maybe?

Well, the banana option could count for those people who are not in the mood to answer or don't give a damn about these kind of boring questions...

    None, I use tabs...

Mozilla in my case actually , the mouse gestures are also a very nice feature.

Well, I had nothing better to do at the time, I don't think it is the most exciting question of all. On the other hand, this thread has already 3 pages, so apparently some people got interested...

Or are they just getting +1?

Weird things happen occasionally at 'Poly but opera is useable.......just use IE when necessary. When browsing lots of threads the mouse gestures are indispensable.

Before I saw the light of hi-speed net, I had about 8 or 9 windows open at a time.

Now because I have to wait...lets see...only 1.422 seconds, that cuts it down to only about 1 or 2, at most 3.

Yeah, Poly with a 56K modem could be a nightmare at times.
