  • I think I caught the AI cheating

In the last game I was playing I was going for a space victory. I only had a one tech lead on my closest competitor so I was checking the space race every turn. Germany went from having four complete and none in progress one turn, at the begining of the next turn I get the message saying Germany as built two parts to the space ship. They didn't have any great leaders that I know of( this is if they show up in the military advisory page when I have a planted spy ) and only one army which they still had afterwards( and I don't know if its possible to get you great leader back after making an army).

Has anyone else seen this? Where they really cheating or could this have been a display bug?

maybe they switched production from other things and it was one turn?
tho i suppose that would appear as in progress for one turn, not sure

Never give the AI your worldmap .
It seems that the AI uses that info to plan his moves and the AI then comes to build around you .

Agreed but it seems that when you give the map the AI knows a lot more .
Like where exact your troops are and so .

It is commonly assumed that the AI knows where each of your units are, though some say that they just know what units are garrisoning each of your cities.

Since they have such poor grey-matter to think with, it would be easy to assume that they also know what is being produced. OTOH, such knowledge is rarely put to good use in such a dramatic way as to win the game as in delsolsi's case.**

The AI is not cheating, it's just playing by a different set of rules (made to look like they are the same).

**delsolsi, they DIDN'T win, did they?

(Bleepin' starship ought to be produced after robotics, not before)
