I remember this game being discussed here awhile back. I finally saw the game for sale recently and the concept intrigued me. I just wanted to ask if it was worth buying.

i don't know if this version is worth buying, but you could buy it just to support the production of SP2.
There are still some bugs, but the creators are working with the fans on their forum to fix this. Personally i'm waiting for SP2...or maybe i'll buy SP1 if they get all the big bugs out, and the AI is as good as it claims to be.
Right now half the people get WW3 within one year gametime, that just doesn't seem fun to the builder inside of me

Actually I have the game. I enjoy it...but SP2 will be huge and a big success I predict. With Mplayer and a better logistics/demographics. Its definately somthing to look forward too!

For what its' worth, Superpower has gotten terrible reviews, and if they are to believed, the game is a real lost oportunity.

It was a good idea but terrible execution and horribly buggy.

Hopefully by the time it gets down in price to $5 or $10 the patches will make it halfway decent.

I would hold off buying it.

There are much better games that have already been released, or are about to be released. . .

I don't know what your preferences are, or what games you already have, buy I would recommend the following:

                          Past Releases:

Most of these games are very inexpensive right now.

                          1) EU2 - patch 1.05 was just released. Paradox is really tweaking the game and the AI. No other game like it.

                          2) Shogun Total War: Warlords Edition - this is the final release and includes all the patches and expansion pack

                          3) Panzer General 2 - from 1998, but is still going strong. There are a ton of new maps, campaigns, icons, equipment files for the game. Excellent wargame. . .

                          4) Sierra's city building games, in particular Zeus and Caesar III

                          Current Releases

                          1) Matrix's Uncommon Valor: War in the Pacific

                          Future Considerations:

                          1) Hearts of Iron - (grand WWII strategy game). Done by the same people who brought you EU2.

                          2) Crusader Kings - Time of the Crusades and beyond. Done by the folks who did EU2.

                          3) Matrix's HUGE War in the Pacific - coming out this fall.

                          4) Pax Romana - Grand Roman Empire game

These are just a few suggestions. Hope this helps

Where can I find some info on Hearts of Iron, Crusader Kings, and Pax Romana?

Matrix games look to be geared more to the hardcore grognard rather than taking the neophyte into consideration. So, I can not really take them into consideration.
