  • Rise of nations preview in Computer Games Magazine

boy, is this forum a buzz of frenetic activity!!

OK, it's the issue with age of mythology on the cover (another microsoft title)

some interesting things to say. if it's zoomed all the way out, it looks like Civilization. when zoomed all the way in, it looks like empire earth. the interface reminds you of age of empires.

apparently, you build cities, then build structures around your city to support it. cities and fortresses define your area of influence where you can harvest resources. resources themselves may not appear until the tech is discovered, ala Civ3. Reynolds gives a multiplayer mode that prevents rushing, or so he says. called "peace until gunpowder (or whatever given tech)", war cannot be declared until a certain tech level is reached. it's just maneuvering until then. Oh, and enering another civ's border automatically declares war.

    just some of the highlights....
Any man can be a Father, but it takes someone special to be a BEAST

I was just about to point out that Horsie is simply making excuses in advance for why he will suck at Civ III...
