  • A way to solve the AI self-destructing under Communism?!

    Anyone any ideas as to how to remedy this situation where the AI just pop-rushes it cities until they're all pop size 1 entertainers?

    So far i have several ways:

    1. reduce penalties for pop-rushing to <10 turns.
    2. change Communism from using sacrificing to hurry production to a money-based hurry production.
    3. increasing the number of shields each pop-sacrifice gives.

    Any other ways?

    I think the unhappiness penalty should go back to 20 turns, first of all.

    Second, the AI behavior needs to be changed to deal with the new cumulative unhappiness - in other words, it should whip and draft less.

    Perhaps communist rushing should give more shields than despot rushing (more effective forced labor?).

      Since there is no differnce in unhappiness for big cities regardless of way how unhappines is calculated.
      My guess is that turn penality should be 20.

      So far I had no big problems in my MOD (patch sug. MOD)

      This could be too powerfull in despotism (if you choose 30)
      Like building granaries for one pop, or Chatedrals for 1pop & 10 shields.


      But,
      Would PERFECTLY fit COMMUNISM.

      Normally Factoy needs (200 shileds) 9 pop.

      If chaged (to 30 instead of 20) it would need 6 pop.
      2 pop for Infantry, 3 pop for Armor.

      P.S.
      I would like different effectivness of pop rushing in various govenments.

        Change the AI so it stops whipping and drafting at a certain level of unhappiness. Maybe when half the population is entertainers, or maybe when starvation starts. Finding a good level may take some tweaking, but the code is simple enough.
