How Can I Play Civilization Ii's Scenarios?

HOW CAN I PLAY CIVILIZATION II'S SCENARIOS IF I HAVEN'T CIVILIZATION II FANTASTICAL WORLD?
I'VE ONLY THE "CD BASE" OF CIV II AND OTHER SCENARIOS ( BESTONNET? ) BUT WITH NEW SCENARIOS ( DOWNLOADED BY INTERNET ) I CAN'T PLAY...
SORRY... I SPEAK ENGLISH A LIT' BIT... THANK.

Hi Kiricrate,

You can download the patch that will convert your Civ II to MGE (Multiplayer Gold Edition) and so allow you to play all the scenarios available on the web (except those for TOT! not many!!)

You can find it on Civfanatics (don't know if it's on Poly as well??) at

It's the last link under "Patches/Updates".

Newbie question but here goes: What site has the best custom scenarios for download? There are hundreds of them, but what is/are the most enjoyable?

Good ol' 'Polly and its hosted sites Scenario League etc have all the best Scenarios -- of course I'm totally biased and never visit any other sites to actually compare, but when I have been looking for a scenario - 'Polly has never failed me.

Go to the home page at http://apolyton.net/civ2/ - from there you can enter the 'Database' (top right hand corner) or any of the hosted sites (from a drop down list at the bottom right) and - I've just been there to have a look - there are a goodly set of interesting scenarios headlined on that home page!!!

Enjoy!!!!!!!

Don't forget that you need the appropriate version of Civ to play the various scenarios - not many will work with bog standard 2.42 the variants CiC, FW & MGE will each support more and more scenario possibilities ...

Another hosted site, the Spanish Civilization II Site, has excellent scenarios. There is a section about spanish history and another for the cream of the crop in all other categories. Well worth a visit!

---Sadly my scenarios do lack- but if I were you, I would check out Giant Squid's Site... I believe there is a link to his site in the Civ III links section.
His "Clouds" game is quite interesting, as are his others.

As for good scenarios- Cam Hills "Gangsters" is consistently highly rated. Myself, I prefer "Dungeon", but they are in the same vein.
