Who are those hussars for Polish?
If you mean Gussars - they are typically Russian noble cavalry - no commoners were in Gussars - only nobles (and in Russain history and folklore - there are lot of stories and jokes abour Gussars bravery and love-affairs)
For Polish I suggest ...something else...I will try to find it but no Hussars or Gussars - they never were Polish units (even then Poland was partly occupied by Russian Empire in XVIII-XIX century).
Evil Russian from C class movie said "Oh No! It's my role to crush the world, not Bin Ladden's role! Do something or I lose my favorite role I played last 50 years in yankee movies (start smiling here!)"...
Kickasso, don't be that greedy. Russians have their Cossacks.
Hussars did exist in many European countries, especially Poland and Hungary. They weren't much "unary" though, just a kind of light and fast cavalry, in contrast to Dragoons and others.
I think the Hewbrew UU should replace the Mech Inf, seeing that the Isrealis were on the defensive most the time during the various conflicts they have been in, and I've never really heard of Isreali heavy armor.
Hello guys!
So I am on the project eh?
I will be monitoring this thread and lookout for those picture/drawings that you guys will be posting for those UUs.
I can also be contacted at leongkooi@yahoo.com if anyone decided to mail me the pictures/drawings instead.![]()

Kickasso: ooh, we have a little Tzar here, don't we?
The husars we are talking about originated from the light Serbian and Hungarian cavalry, some of which fought under Polish command. Their combat style (light armor, mobility) was adapted by some Polish nobility, which was the creation of the new formation.
As weapons, the husars used long spears (5 meters - while a significant portion of Western European pikemen had weapons of 4 meter length). After the inititial charge, they would attack with slashing and thrusting weapons such as the sabre or koncerz. Polish hussars are mostly known for their 'wings'.
Wernazuma III: Speaking of the husar, I must strongly dissagre against having them as replacement for cavalry. Polish husars first originated in the beggining of the XVIth century, while the cavalry in Civ3 represents formations predominant in the XVIIIth-XIXth century.
And BTW, there is already someone doing graphics for the husar. You can see the results so far here and here . Guess that's one less unit for Dark Sheer to worry about.
Lod, you're right actually
Really Hussars came from Hungary and Serbia in XVIII century but were changed by their weapon and tactical usage in other countries (Russia, Poland, Bulgaria etc) - I had incorrect info and posted it without double checking. Pardon panowe!![]()
Heh, it seems that my majesty must share lovely Gussars with neighbours...

Ok..agree that not only Russians have Gussars - so let they belong to Poland in Civ3

Enjoy LoD, another tzar arrived
If Poland will have Hussars as UU, then Russian UU must be changed also. I suggest as new Russian’s UU a special version of scout known as Ivan Susanin.![]()

You just took units like a warrior, knight or ship and made them foreign names.
Warrior, brave, and fighter are all the same thing, just different words. You just took the same thing and put them in a different language or grouping.
There is no real difference between a ship of the line and a galleon, its just a different name depending on where you are from.
There is no room for more UUs, except for many modern units. I'm sorry, but there is no room for those unimportant civs. There is a reason why there are only 16 civs in the game: there are not enough traits or units.
Relax, this will be possible whenever Firaxis gives us a decent editor, about the same time we perfect fusion energy.![]()

Wrestling is real!
Hmmm....no new information for the last 1 week?
Keep those ideas flowing, guys!![]()

Sorry Dark Sheer, I was cut off from Internet for over a week and even now it's very limited (only at work), so I can't look for images too much. I'll certainly try in the next days.
But you're right: Guys, keep looking for pictures!

Not being bolshie, but when was it decided that the Celtic U.U. would be the Lisping Mad Max, sorry, Woad Wawior?
If you were to look at mainland European Celtic history, then the fighter which distinguished them from their neighbours, was the horse-riding, long sword-wielding fighter, who supplanted the chariot on the continental landmass.
If you were to look at the Celts in Ireland, Wales, England and Scotland, then the chariot based fighter (as remarked upon by Julius Caesar) was the distinguishing combatant.
I can easily locate images of reconstructed Celtic chariots and long swords.

A quick question:
When is this expansion going to be released?
It sounds great; I can't wait till it's done.![]()

Not so soon lamentably, because we still lack the unit graphics (what this thread should resolve) and the leader graphics, which seems to be still more of a problem...

I'd say, just take the outfit of the "typical" conquistador () and give him a musket...
