  • This really starts to get interesting. The SaveGames seem to support 32 civs in a game.

I'll soon know enough about them to rewrite my SAV-load function. Somethings are still needed, but I'm close to be able to add/remove units.

As you posted this in this thread I think that you have edit the rules of the game. Am I right?
In that case did you add a civ and entered the foreign advisor, or did you do something else?

Cheers, but i've got it working now. Gramphos posted a couple of links to the updated files i needed.

Still haven't had a full-on delve into your program, but it looks very useful, from what i've seen already. good work.

              • Gramphos, I have just now downloaded your latest version and for reason it is not working for me. I may be doing something wrong, though, I don't know. I unzipped the file and placed it in the directory of /Civivilization3/. When I try to run the program I get an error of -- Component.'COMDLG32.OCX' not currently registered: file is missing or invalid --. Most likely I am doing something incorrect and it is not your program. Regardless of where the problem is coming from could you help me? Thanks.
However, it is difficult to believe that 2 times 2 does not equal 4; does that make it true? On the other hand, is it really so difficult simply to accept everything that one has been brought up on and that has gradually struck deep roots – what is considered truth in the circle of moreover, really comforts and elevates man? Is that more difficult than to strike new paths, fighting the habitual, experiencing the insecurity of independence and the frequent wavering of one’s feelings and even one’s conscience, proceeding often without any consolation, but ever with the eternal goal of the true, the beautiful, and the good? - F.N.

It is a missing runtime file (that is used by the savegame editor and the loading screen)

Extract the two files from this cab and right click on the inf and select install (I can't include the file with the tool as it would take extra space for all that already have it)

Now I'm really confused . My tool don't allow add of stuff in savegames, and AFAIK improvements can't be civ-specific.

As I can NOT open sav files with your tool, but bic files only!!!!!
And there I clicked "palace", with the result, that inthe game that I started after with that bic I had 2* a palace in buldings selection, one * the normal with icon, the other without icon and the 2nd was also shown as possible to build for the main city which had already a palace.

Upps, now you're making me confuse again!
You say "SaveGame editor" but show a picture of Civ3CopyTool

If I extract the zip of the C3CT, I get an exe "Civ3CopyTool.exe" tho that I refer above.
If I extract the civ3-sge-v1-01.zip, I get a file "Save Game Editor.exe" and this windows doesn't accept as executable windows file but shows it as dos file and I can't run it.

And your C3CT doesn't show the pullodwn left above and no units selections having races names behind.

                            What is now what????
If both files work together, how they have to call?? Maybe I'm stupid and didn't understand how tu use right.

Seems you have an other versionthan I have. Here both are separate programs, inyour screenshot above both features are integreted together.
But where to download it? -
ok, found it (you should name your different versions as such)

BUT now I get a runtime error

Downloade the latest version (0.71) of the CopyTool. It copies the icon for buildings as well. You must have a version before 0.65.

It is MY SaveGame Editor. I stared to work on decodeing SaveGames a while ago, and I didn't want to stop because of another SaveGameEditor got ready before mine. The reason why it is in the CopyTool is that it must read the rulefiles to be able to know all unitnames and other rules and I already had those functions in C3CT.

If I extract the zip of the C3CT, I get an exe "Civ3CopyTool.exe" tho that I refer above.

To me it sounds as you are using another then the latest version of C3CT. Right Click on the EXE and select Properties and check the fileversion (Should be 0.71.something).

                                What is now what????
If both files work together, how they have to call?? Maybe I'm stupid and didn't understand how tu use right.

Currently they don't work together. Jimmies file is a separate tool. Anyway I plan to allow other tools to start from the menus in the C3CT in later versions, but as long as I don't make DLLs they can't communicate. So they would go us unintegrated tools.
