How are they expected to check 400 hours of new content every minute? Does that sound even vaguely possible? No, they end up being reliant on user tagging, and once something has been tagged (which will happen many thousands of times an hour) what then? Should a Youtube employee sit and watch a 3 hour video just to double check whether someone has broken a particular condition of use?

This is one of those times when you should be really careful what you wish for. A free internet comes with some things we might not like, but it's sure as hell better than the alternative.
First, this is not my idea of a free internet, where a corporation like Google has so much control over content.

Second, Google clearly has political beliefs which are in line with their own censorship. You're just assuming, ridiculously, that this is a technical issue. I'm not holding Google to a ridiculously high standard. I'm saying that they are willfully censoring conservative educational information.

You can just turn off the restricted mode ... or whine endlessly about an issue you obviously don't understand. It's all a big conspiracy against conservatives. All those Friedman (interesting) and InfoWars (hilarious) videos cluttering up my recommended videos list right now probably don't even exist!

Strawman. The issue is whether or not individuals should try to prevent people from getting information by lying about that information. The discussion should be about the effect this has on society, or do you give a damn if everyone is ignorant or not?

Always a big conspiracy isn't it? Conservative leaning videos aren't being censored. Get a grip.

Youtube is providing a free service. Complaining about what they offer you for free makes you kind of a dick.

Yolanda: Hey, friends, I've got a whole bunch of books just lying around. Feel free to borrow them if you want.

Constance: Can I borrow that one?

            Yolanda: Sure.

            Constance: And that one?

            Yolanda: Definitely.

            Constance: What about that one?

Yolanda: Slow down there, buckaroo! But yes.

            Constance: How about this one?

Yolanda: Sure, although Libby says it's heavy on the sex and violence. Still want it?

            Constance: Yup.

            Yolanda: You got it.

            Constance: Censorship!!!!!!

I think the answer is obvious Kid. Go out and view videos and when you see something that leans towards the liberal side, tag it as sex and violence and then that too will get restricted. It should even things out and then there is no specific bias.

If YouTube were seriously interested in censoring repellent opinion, three-quarters of their commenters would be insta-banned. They could basically assign a computer to arbitrarily axe everyone who posts more than three times a day, and only nail a few people who were not objectionable.

Not sure what your point is with the dialogue. Google is lying about people's work. It would actually be less unethical if they literally banned conservative work. Instead they are misleading people about it and contributing to the overall ignorance of society.

You say I'm a dick for picking on poor Google, yet it seems that you don't give a **** about Google telling the public that material has sex and violence when it doesn't. I'm certain that you would sing a different tune if you had a video on YouTube, and they lied, saying that it contains sex and violence.

Furthermore, if people can't trust Google censorship they might as well just show babies penises

Allowing people to get brainwashed by conservative right wing videos is contributing to ignorance in society.

They aren't targeting conservative videos though. So try to present some actual proof.

Ok Kid, please explain how you would simultaneously stop people mis-using the report system AND ALSO prevent people posting hardcore porn and decapitation videos. Please explain this in actual steps that a human could understand.

And while you're at it, please explain why it's their bias since anyone can do the same thing.

Not my area of expertise, but you know who is making the false reports. Look at everything they report.

This is common sense. People don't lie about political videos unless they are biased. Oh how I wish you and your brother had any co.mon sense.

Your common sense is strange. How is it Google's bias if the triggering is caused by community flagging? Google even offers the user an option to ignore the restriction.

Now if you can prove that the algorithm is biased against conservative views then you'd have something. But nothing you've posted proves that.
