Not unless they are Larry Craig. Funny when the RNC is in town demand for escorts jumps up dramatically. And not just for female escorts...
For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colors. - Bobby Kennedy (Mindless Menance of Violence)

That's pretty well documented as true for both parties' conventions.

For republicans it's many times more. I don't have an issue when democrats do that... republicans are the ones espousing family values and nonsense like that, yet do differently behind closed doors.

Then they boast about hateful trash like Roger Stone and the Duggar family.

It's just a political party that is afraid of losing. Pretty sad.

I guess it has something to do with the ratio good guys with guns vs bad guys with guns.

In the center, they probably expect(ed) a ratio favoring the bad guys with guns. So, gun control improves security there.
When you widen the scope to whole US, the ratio favors the good guys with guns, so gun control reduces security.

It's all logic and math, sir.

Is the RNC under a police state? If yes... Why would they let that happen?

The thing that gladdens my heart is the idea that between Boris Johnson's and Donald Trump's diplomatic skills, the US 2nd amendment might be used for what it was intended - the long awaited rematch between The USA and Great Britannia!
