Listening to the media this morning (NPR), I hear idiots comparing the shooting in Dallas to the police shootings in MN and LA. The shooting in Dallas was clearly a hate crime and a terrorist act. It was pre-meditated. They are comparing police to racist terrorists.
These people are anti-intellectuals fronting as the opposite. Something has to be done about the media. I hope Obama doesn't do this, but I expect he will.

If by "comparing" you mean "saying they are different from," you are correct.

Do you really think anyone reasonable supports the assassination of police?

In the meantime, our constitutional freedom of the press will continue to allow both liberal and conservative voices in the media. At least until Drumpf is elected.

I'm not saying they support murdering police. They clearly believe that's wrong. But they treat the events as equal at best and possibly the shooting of black men as worse. I haven't verified this but I've heard that more police are shot than black men are shot by police. Also, not saying the Dallas shooting is the same. It's much more serious.

and yet again, the problem seems to be a psycho (or psychos) with a motherfucking gun

i'm stuck trying to imagine how a guy or group of people with knives or other melee weapons could carry out a sniper attack on law enforcement

i guess if only those cops were armed, they would have been able to stop the gunmen

The problem is in the system. If you didn't have income unequality, racial tension, excessive police enforcement and imprisonment, unemployment, non-working diplomatic institutes, biggest military spending in the world and other things unworthy of a real democracy, things wouldn't have been as bad. Don't blame the people who no longer believe in justice from the government, blame the government and capitalists who control the government.

You should have verified it first...
ZeroHedge - On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero

Through July, 123 Blacks have been shot do death by police in the US.

So far this year, 27 law enforcement officers have died in the line of duty.

Through July, only 26 Law Enforcement Officers have been killed by gunfire in the US (with no mention of the race of the shooter)

BLM throws rocks etc at police, injuring 21, after refusing to stop blocking the interstate for hours, in MN.

I do support law enforcement, but reforms need to be implemented and more needs to be done with community relations. The LAPD has done an adequate job in reforming itself since the early 1990s, and those reforms took greater force in the last decade or so. They are being very careful and maintaining ties to communities. Black Lives Matter needs to cut the hypocrisy and their silence after the shooting in Orlando shows this hypocritical behavior (btw the police did save dozens of lives in that attack). And I'm saying this as someone who is left wing. You don't gain reform by throwing stones.

I can see someone here is engaging in inflammatory right wing rhetoric in order to prove a point. I wonder what this individual's response was when the deranged individual (who couldn't accept himself) took the lives of people in Orlando. He probably blamed Obama in some way. It's quite sad how quickly the mass shooting in Orlando has been forgotten (especially by Faux News - it didn't turn into the story they wanted).

I'm still waiting for the NRA to comment on two registered gun owners being shot dead by the police...

I wonder what a western responce was when mobs burned police alive with Molotov cocktails in Ukraine? Ah, right, they supported it and said that police absolutely shouldn't use force in return. I wonder, where is a western support of USA police killers? Why the west doesn't impose sanctions on USA for killing "freedom fighters"?

We have at least some protesters blaming this on "The System," and not the shooter. When a liberal commits and act of terror, and a hate crime, it's the system according to these a$$holes. Actually, it might be the system that is causing people to be this stupid and to go as far as to massacre police.

Difficult decision IMO - if you take the send in "bombs by robot" idea to the last consequence police might as well call in airstrikes next time. Otoh thanks to the ppl who gave us suicide attacks SWAT style units tend to shoot to kill as standard procedure these days, so the end result of robot vs. SWAT may be the same.

It's the Congress that allows guns to get in the hands of crazy people... they can't even pass a simple gun control law that would improve background checks. Background checks that are supported anywhere from 65-80% of the American people depending on what poll you look at it.

And the fact you try to spin this and say "liberals" are to blame for this violence shows your desperation.

But then again look at the reality: Texas and Florida... states with zero gun control laws that saw two of the worst shootings in the past year and with hideously incompetent REPUBLICAN CONSERVATIVE governors.

I was unaware shooting to wound was standard police training given the fact the largest target on the body has 2 vital organs within its confines.

As I said upstream, using robots may well reduce fatalities. Nobody wants to die suiciding on hardware.
