Need to know which game it is for any chance of being able to tell you how to extend the SP duration. There's an infinite ways a game could implement that.

What is the cap on duration?

          Ie. 2400 turns (100 days * 24 hours).

Cheat engine can't open any of the files and notepad gives gibberish. A regular hex editor also hasn't given me anything readable.

I tried running the exe through a disassembler, but it looks like its packed. You're probably **** out of luck I'm afraid.

A quick once over I didn't see a way to do it with a disassembler or in any of the settings files. Cheat Engine can handle it though it looks like. (Can't guarantee there won't be any bugs arise from this... )

              Run DOSBox
              Start the game
              Start Cheat Engine
Target DOSBox with Cheat Engine ("Select Process to Run")
In "Value" in CE enter the current hour (days * 24, Hex unchecked)
              Click "New Scan"
              ... next turn in Wargames

You could spot this value by just watching which address progresses by one each hour. Otherwise you can wait and then:

Enter the current hour (so +24) in Value in CE
              Click "Next Scan"

Likely there is a single address that fits.

Double click that address to add it below.
Double click the "Value" in the list below and change to 0.

That will reset the turn number to 0. Doesn't seem to have any other effect on the game, though it may.

              --------------------------

You can do this at max turn. You may have to guess which address is the right one if there are more than one address at 2400. It's easy enough to check. If you changed the right one you can progress to the next turn. If not, you will get the "Are you sure you want to quit" ... and change that address back and try another one with 2400 until you get the right one.

Well, thank you! I wasn't expecting you to delve into it yourself.
