Only girls and gays keep diaries. Real men (where by "real men" I mean "closeted gays") keep journals.

Bob Packwood et al taught us that if you have even a marginally interesting life then you should not keep a diary/journal.

I had a teacher back in middle school who said she couldn't take A Separate Peace seriously because one of the characters is a dude who keeps a diary.
