    I really don't understand why they don't rebrand. That would require all their fans to spend hundreds on merch. That is the American way!

        Do you mean the Montreal Canadiens...? The distinctive C-wrapped-around-H logo stands for "Club de Hockey Canadien." Oddly a Texan came up with the mistaken nickname. Thank you for playing.

          The owner doesn't want to and the fans largely don't care in large enough numbers to justify it.

            This mystifies me. The Winnipeg Jets have kept their name, but modify their uniform every few years to generate new merchandise sales. Sure, my Jets jersey is from the '70s, but most fans don't want retro; they will pay big bucks for the newest design.

            The Washington owner is a crappy businessman.
