You do realize that you always do the same? First you create the Taliban/ISIS support it, finance it, train it, arm it, then you bomb them.

The pattern of behavior of "civilized country":

Sure thing, with just two interventions Russia is not qualified to be truly "civilized" in a Western understanding of the term.

Sometimes I wonder if Doc S is one of those people that thinks that all that stuff against Pol Pot was just slander by capitalist oppressors.

I get the feeling he was some square who picked up a Howard Zinn book at some point and mistook it for mystical revelation.
                  John Brown did nothing wrong.

Serb is correct. There's a long standing history of the US arming islamists. Even the Iranian revolution was initially propped by the US.

The Shah was our puppet. Why would we prop up his enemies?

Because his brutality was embarassing us.

He wasn't .01% as brutal as the people who took his place, and let's face it, pretty much all the people he brutalized were bad guys. As dictators go, he was as tame as they come. Like Mubarak, it's stupid to complain about his crimes when the alternatives are so much worse.

Still you overthrew him, despite him being a loyal US lackey for decades

And the "alternative is so much worse" approach have never stopped you from ruining Libya or Iraq.

Wrong as usual. The other alternative to him (besides conservative islamists) were islamic socialists and other secular liberals, which the US definitely didn't want to see seize power.
