it's like saying that an abolitionist would support a tax on slaves.

There actually are standards for what constitutes a "real" religion in America. One of my pre-law classes was all about SCOTUS and we talked extensively about such criteria.

Let's see if I can remember off the top of my head:

-longstanding tradition in legal and religious history (the big one)
      -religion must have a creed
      -membership of regular worshipers
-a place of worship (not some dude's basement)
-an established organization of ordained ministers
-must also provide regular religious services (I'm not sure if the frequency matters, like weekly mass or whatever)
To us, it is the BEAST.

        Very good example.

Nono, you're wrong. They just ask BK, it's his word that matters.

          • That's the best way to describe BK's religious views... and views on everything. I really hope Christianity turns out to be true just so I get to witness him meeting Jesus.

I want to watch BK meet Jesus more than I actually want to meet Jesus myself.

Also, I like how somehow taxing wealth is communist.
That's how religious freedom works right? The government tells you if you're practicing a true faith or not.

              • It's an improvement. Freedom of religion used to mean "freedom to be a certain kind of Christian... and nothing else"

So I can invent a bull**** religion and use it as an excuse to smoke Pot?
A murderer had a nervous breakdown and invented your BS religion, but people have been using pot in their religions longer than your religion has existed. I see you just ignored the sources I posted. I figured you'd do that...

Tell you what - show me a divine scripture of the prophet Marley.
I dont listen to his music, but I suspect you'll find it there

Medicare is publicly funded. Congress has the power to eliminate funding for Medicare. Or are you going to give me the bull**** that Medicare is not a public organization again?
It dont matter if Medicare funding can be cut by Congress, you claimed the tax you pay for Medicare gave you the right to make all our decisions - from what foods we can eat to how much exercise you require from us and how many hours of TV we can watch. You get to decide everything because you pay a tax. That was your argument, now you're running away from it.

Alright since you can live off Pot - lets see you try.
I never said I could live off it, I said it was food. Ice cream is food too but I couldn't live off it either. But I know which one I'd live longer on, hemp is food and better for us than a bunch of the crap in the supermarket.

                          GODDAMNIT.

I said nothing of the sort.

Quote me saying that or shut the **** up.
I did quote you and I'll do it again

Where does the constitution mention the free exercise of toking?

Congress has the right to pass laws unless the constitution explicitly forbears it.

And the people do not have the enumerated right to smoke pot.

Find one who argues that there is a constitutional right to pot.

The constitution explicitly protects freedom of religious expression.
                          And I'll add your latest:

Where does the constitution mention the free exercise of toking? It does not. One down. There is no enumerated right to toking.
No enumerated right to eat food, Ben... No enumerated right to read the Bible and eat crackers and drink wine.

Yes, there is an enumerated right. Right to life is protected in the US constitution.
And there you go again, the rights we have according to you are enumerated. But you're wrong, there is no enumerated right to life. I asked where you found this right and got crickets

Then they can ban pot and there's no constitutional right to it.
A plant is not commerce and you said Congress can ban it, maybe you should spend some time thinking about your arguments before posting them, constantly changing what you said doesn't make you look ethical.

                              • I dont see how food stamps gives Congress the power to decide what we eat and how much exercise we get.

Congress has the right to pass laws unless the constitution explicitly forbears it.
Thats very leftwing of you, Ben... But its wrong, Congress has "enumerated" powers (you're still confusing rights with powers). They dont get to pass any laws they want unless the Constitution forbids it, they get to pass laws based on the powers that are enumerated.

Thats why some of the Founding Fathers opposed a Bill of Rights, they saw no need since Congress was given limited powers.
