Reading that Poast, without any former knowledge of the toPicK, I cKan see with no cKonfusion as to what he is talking about. I BasicKally now know who Ray Rice is, the entire situation regarding his wife, and detailed information aBout their relationshiP all based on reading the OP. 2:01 PM PT -- According to a court summons issued in New Jersey, Rice is accused of knocking Palmer out cold on the night of the attack by "striking her with his hand" inside the casino.

I don't know the whole story, but what if it is as initially stated...a mutually combative situation or if she attacked him. Does he not have the right to defend himself because he is stronger?

Jay Z was ferociously assaulted by Beyonce's sister Solange ... who was wildly kicking and swinging at him inside an elevator ... and the attack was captured on surveillance video.

He beat his wife unconscious. He could have killed her.

This Donald Sterling thing really put things into perspective. I understand owners need to be held to a higher standard (or so people have been saying this). He got his for a lifetime of racism.

              Ray Rice?

Ban him for life. Take away his Super Bowl ring. Charge him with aggravated attempted murder (or whatever). Give him the max possible penalty.

I'm sick and tired of this bull****. These fricken people need to learn how to behave themselves.

It's sad that beating your wife until she's unconscious is actually one of the more minor recent crimes committed by a pro athlete. I think it is pretty clear the leagues don't really care about this sort of crime but heaven forbide some crazy old white guy yells some racist stuff at his gold digging mistress. Why then they have to steal his property and ban him for life.

How about they just ban all of the people who actually do commit crimes and maybe have a more proportional response to people who didn't actually commit a crime but who said something offensive? It's a radical idea but the general public could show their displeasure simply by not buying tickets or going to the games.

                  Nobody stole anything from Sterling.

He had his membership from a billionaire's club revoked for not following the rules.

Do we know that he BEAT his wife, unconscious. It's entirely possible that she hit him MULTIPLE times before he hit her back ONCE. I don't know what happened. None of us do. Many women will attack a man even if he is much stronger than they are. They feel like it's wrong for a man to hit a woman but they don't feel like it's wrong for a woman to hit a man. Example is the fact that I showed a video of a woman attacking a man and nobody was outraged or called her a POS. It's entirely possible that she was the PRIMARY AGGRESSOR. What I do know is that whatever he did and she did. They were willing to marry each other afterwards. So apparently getting knocked out is not as big a deal to her as it is to some of us.

I agree with that rule. However, as I pointed out, the outrage people feel is because it's a man hitting a woman. Where is the outrage for a woman hitting a man?

Even in the Jay-Z/Solange example. Jay-Z pretty much kept his hands by his side except to catch one kick. Is that a reasonable response to an attack on ones person? If there would have been no video footage and he beat the hell out of her then dragged her out of the elevator, we would have all been outraged. As it stands, he did nothing so he is only the subject of ridicule. No win situation for a man.

Also in the after math of that event, Solange did not make a press conference apology. There was a statement released in which both parties mutually apologized for their role in the incident. And as far as I know, there is evidence of crime being committed and the police are not pursuing charges.

Assault is wrong no matter who does it.

There's no equivalent woman-hitting-man scenario for me to express outrage about. Maybe if Serena Willians had some skinny guy and beat him up.

Ray Rice also gets beat up for a living. If we're talking about hand to hand combat, there is very little most people (men and women) could probably do to him simply because of his physical condition.

Take gender out of the equation. You had one human being beat another one unconscious. The attacker is also very high profile.

If you can understand why there's outrage about this... well, I can't help you.

If you want to imagine a scenario where he got beat up instead, then fine. Put me down for outrage about that. Why is the outrage of others so important to you?
