  • How do you use more than one mod in a game?

For example, I really like the 40 civs mod, which allows all 37 civs plus 3 colonies to play at the same time, and I want to keep that going while playing the EXTRA mod.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

I have no clue but I suspect installing multiple mods would result in a conflict of some kind.

That's the thing. There are a number of threads dealing with mod compatibility (for example, 40 Civs is supposed to be compatible with a great number of them, because its a DLL mod, and most modders leave DLLs alone), but they're all years old and appear to gloss over how you actually do it as common knowledge.

It's been a long time, but I think if it's a DLL mod and the other one isn't a DLL mod, it should work (assuming the DLL mod doesn't directly reference some other change). You would install the EXTRA mod as normal, and then put the 40 Civs DLL in the EXTRA mod folder in the assets subfolder. (assuming EXTRA isn't a DLL mod?)

          Okay, I'll try that, thanks!

Just an update: works as advertised.
