  • Palin v Clinton for 2016

I'd like to see that, replace the debates with a cat fight, mud wrestling and a cage match against old banana legs and Palin will triumph. She should get in training. It would rejuvenate the party and make great TV.

Palin's gonna be 52. Sadly out of her prime for mud wrestling.

The one bright spot here is that Biden is the more likely nominee now for the Dems in 2016.

Biden has hinted he's going to run, by accident, in a couple of stump speeches. I can't wait for the Onion articles on it.

The convention has offered an early glimpse of some of the party’s ambitious prospects, including Gov. Martin O’Malley of Maryland and Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa of Los Angeles.

Cuomo, maybe? I don't think Clinton will, though perhaps her leaving the SoS job is with that intent (as opposed to just being tired).

Cuomo I think will run. I also bet Hillary will, because her ego demands it.

Republicans who I think will run: Susanna Martinez, Chris Christie, possibly Bob McDonnell if he doesn't run for Senate, and Scott Walker.

Christie may run but there isn't a chance in hell he gets close to the nomination after this election.

You're probably right. He was always a bit of a longshot anyway. My money is on Martinez. GOP is going to look to expand the coalition, she's the person to do that. She also had one of (if not the) strongest speeches at the convention this year.

Someone like Martinez would have the credibility to go after immigration reform and pull the conservative-leaning Hispanic vote into the GOP column where it belongs. I'd also suggest Rubio, but Wiglaf observed to me over IM that he is probably damaged goods, or Romney would have picked him for VP. I'm not so sure though--I think Ryan was a calculated pick to solidify the message on Medicare and deficits.

Dunno why Biden would run - unless he's that interested in getting ***** slapped by Hillary.
