  • City Managers don't pay attention to negative food production, even when set to Growth, playing latest AE

    Correction: City Mayors

I got a city that only has two tiles accessible to green area, but it does have a river on one.

    Anyways, the rest are mountains...

    It's my production site.

If I manually manage it, I can have some farmer's increasing the food supply, but if I set a manager to do it, immediately I get warning about running out of food.

What gives? I would think a manager would ensure there was a proper amount of food coming in by managing the specialists for me.

i did some hw. according to Richard Myers on his AMA thread. Sliders (in strategies.txt) can affect ai specialists.

That's the closest I can come to this, yet there is no growth strategy in strategies.txt

    hrmmm...

In the original CTP2 the mayors cannot handle very well there cities. The AI uses the same algorithms, so you can see AI cities that starve to death. In the Apolyton Edition, I actually implemented the algorithm to make sure that the AI and the Mayors keep there cities from starving. I added a lot of code there. However it is still possible that you could do a better job yourself. The Apolyton Edition ignores any stuff regarding the specialist number in the strategies.txt.

        Just read again the title.

Do you use the text files that come with the Apolyton Edition or other text files? For example from a mod. I added some stuff about this to the files. But the stuff that was there originally is not used.
