Death to the Baby Boomers!!!
Hey kids, wake up!
You're not getting screwed by billionaires and plutocrats. You're getting screwed by Mom and Dad.
Systematically and in all sorts of ways. Old people are doing everything possible to rob you of your money, your future, your dignity, and your freedom.
Here's the irony, too (in a sort of Alanis Morissette sense): You're getting hosed by the very same group that 45 years ago was *****ing and moaning about "the generation gap" and how their parents just didn't understand what really mattered in life. ...
You're getting screwed by Social Security, a program that is now more sacrosanct to aging boomers than Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. You're paying more into the system than you're ever going to get out. No wonder it's mandatory. ...
Then chew on this: One of the primary ways that President Obama (born 1961) is making the so-called Affordable Care Act affordable is by having you foot more than your share of the bill. ...
And just wait until those price-capped government-run health-care exchanges finally get set up. By law, the exchanges can't charge their oldest beneficiaries more than three times what they charge their youngest beneficiaries. That's despite the actuarial reality that the older group costs insurers six times as much. So you're helping balance the books there, too. Welcome to community rating, kids. ...
Another way you're helping balance the books: It'll be your future earnings that will pay the taxes to cover the massive amount of debt that local, state, and federal governments have rung up over the past few decades. ...
It should go without saying that it doesn't have to be this way. And don't buy into the idea that the way things are is just part of the circle of life. You're the mark here, the chump who's believing in Bernie Madoff even after the grift has been revealed. There's not going to be a bigger idiot to come along and keep the pyramid scheme alive. You can tell yourself that this is all part of living in a society, that's it for the common good, that there's simply no way a class of people with only 45 times the amount of household income as you do can get by without you sacrificing so much. But you're kidding yourself, kiddo.
The Real Class Warfare is Baby Boomers Vs. Younger Americans
We're on to you, you evil old pieces of ****. It may still take a while to convince a critical mass of our dumber peers of the myriad ways in which you're screwing us, but we're eventually coming after ya'll with pitchforks and torches. Hope you enjoy your retirement on the ice floe.![]()

Why an ice floe? Why not cram them all into a gay hippie submarine blasting woodstock music and explosively decommission it in the middle of the ocean so they can go out in a blaze of 60s-indulgence glory?
We can paint an old one yellow and fill it full of pot and acid and use it for torpedo testing![]()

Baby boomers should all commit sepuku thus saving the nation from the bankruptcy they've tried so hard to drive it into.

Why would we want to indulge them in their final moments when we've been paying to indulge them for years? They'll have plenty of time on the ice floe to think about all they wrong they've done.

Playing Paul McCartney's "when I'm 64"gay hippie submarine blasting woodstock music and explosively decommission it in the middle of the ocean so they can go out in a blaze of 60s-indulgence glory?
Scouse Git (2) LaFayette Adam Smith and Solomwi you will be missed

We can nuke the ice floe if you want.

I actually just went and played the Beatle's "When I'm 64" so finally a Ben post has been valuable for something.
This is a trend which should be encouraged.![]()

We already have the necessary nukes. It's a sunk cost. It also wouldn't violate the NTBT as it wouldn't be a test.

I thought this would be about the Rolling Stones 50 years of touring, and still getting way more tail than Tupac ever will.
There's nothing wrong with the dream, my friend, the problem lies with the dreamer.
Dinner (July 12, 2012)

I think Tupac needs to lose his allowance and be denied the keys to the car for the weekend.

And it would be poetic justice as they would have been the ones responsible commissioning them in the first place.
Can we send them to Texas and nuke them there? Maybe Ben would be caught in the fallout? I'm guessing the cost of treatment for radiation sickness and 3rd degree burns is a ***** without insurance.![]()

That's "still" wrong.

Today’s youth, both here and abroad, have been screwed by their parents’ fiscal profligacy and economic mismanagement. Neil Howe, a leading generational theorist, cites the “greed, shortsightedness, and blind partisanship” of the boomers, of whom he is one, for having “brought the global economy to its knees.”
How has this generation been screwed? Let’s count the ways, starting with the economy. No generation has suffered more from the Great Recession than the young. Median net worth of people under 35, according to the U.S. Census, fell 37 percent between 2005 and 2010; those over 65 took only a 13 percent hit. ...
The screwed generation also enters adulthood loaded down by a mountain of boomer- and senior-incurred debt—debt that spirals ever more out of control. The public debt constitutes a toxic legacy handed over to offspring who will have to pay it off in at least three ways: through higher taxes, less infrastructure and social spending, and, fatefully, the prospect of painfully slow growth for the foreseeable future. ...
Once known for their optimism, many millennials are turning sour about the future. According to a Rutgers study, 56 percent of recent high-school graduates feel they would not be financially more successful than their parents; only 14 percent thought they’d do better. College education doesn’t seem to make a difference: 58 percent of recent graduates feel they won’t do as well as the previous generation. Only 16 percent thought they’d do better.
This perception builds on the growing notion among economists that the new generation must lower its expectations. ...
Right now, politics is just another place where American millennials are getting screwed. Republicans want to deport young Latinos while cutting investments, such as roads and skills education, that would benefit younger voters. Democrats, meanwhile, seem determined to mortgage the future with high spending on pensions, predominantly for aging boomers; cascading indebtedness; and economic policies unfriendly to the rapid growth necessary to assure upward mobility for the new generation.
Are Millenials the Screwed Generation?
Youth of America, wake up! The Baby Boomers must be stopped!

You don't know how to spell.
Too bad your parents didn't read this publication.

I sincerely doubt you've read it, although you may have looked at the pictures.
I'm going to post this to my Facebook wall from my iPhone ... our parents had it so easy and now we're all so screwed!Once known for their optimism, many millennials are turning sour about the future. Fortunately they're too distracted and lazy to do anything about it.Youth of America, wake up! The Baby Boomers must be stopped!
The OT at APOLYTON is like watching the Special Olympics. Certain people try so hard to debate despite their handicaps.
Baron O RIP.

In another generation their kids will complain about them.
Same as it ever was.

Of course you're screwed Republicans have dominated the government for the past 50 years. With regards to SSI though future generations have been footing the bill for the elder recipients since the class of '32 (those born in 1932) reached retirement age. IIRC those folks aren't generally labelled baby boomers.
