This is the view from my window this morning. It's supposed to snow and sleet all week. Now it may be true that Rochester isn't the only place where it can snow on ****ING APRIL 23RD but I'd like to point out that it was 80 degrees on Friday.

Do you ski to work or take a sled of huskies?
"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."--General Sir Charles James Napier

That should help put out all the fires.

          Oh, is Rochester that city?
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Yeah, that place you drive by on the way to Niagara Falls. I've stayed in Batavia a couple of times. Once randomly and once deliberately for the entertainment value that you get from small town America - the gift that keeps on giving...
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

Batavia is roughly halfway along I-90 between Rochester and Buffalo. Incidentally, I was in Niagara Falls on Saturday. It's only about an hour away.

@Zevico: I wish; that would kick ass.

I have told this story before...

I grew up at a time and in a part of Ontario that had very few TV options. One of the handful of channels we could get was ABC out of Buffalo (Irv Weinstein (sp?) was the news guy). Every night on the 11:00 news they ran what seemed like endless footage of house fires within 100 miles of Buffalo. I seem to recall Tonawanda being particularly fire prone. To this day I am amazed there is any housing left in upstate NY.

Rochester is the Siberia of the US in so many ways.
