I guess it's a good thing the Republicans nominated a moderate who's been married to the same likeable woman for 42 years.

Here's a good outsider's view on how the far right social policies of the GOP are angering women voters and harming the GOP's election chances. This is what the GOP is so scared about they're even desperately making up complete bullshit like the OP.

It might help though something tells me that won't shift that 19 point deficit among women voters.

Romney doesn't need to close the gap with women that much given his commanding lead among men.

Romney is +6 on men and -19 on women. Women make up just under 54% of the voting population so tell me how you think this breaks in Romney's favor.

I'm confident your facts are wrong, as usual, but I'm heading out and don't have time to fact check you right now.

It's all right there, Drake. You're just wrong again, as usual, and no amount of projecting on to me will change that. You do enjoy that old Karl Rove tactic as accusing others of what you yourself are guilty of though. BTW those figures are from this week.

I doubt this 'war on women' furor will be sustained through November.

I don't even think it's a furor. The whole thing is obvious bullshit.

The only obvious **** here is your brains. The attacks on birth control, the pushes to pass "life begins at conception" bills, the numerous anti-abortion measures, the vaginal probes, etc... None of those are bullshit, they're all real, and, yes, they really have pissed off a lot of female voters including many who normally vote GOP. Even staunch Republicans like Joe Scarborough have commented that their spouses, who were always Republican voters, are angry and claiming they'll vote against the GOP just to send them a message. One prominent Republican female member of Congress even said "if you don't think there is a war on women then you should go home and ask your wife or daughters".
Claiming the sky isn't blue, as you've done, won't help at all. If the GOP had half a brain they'd muzzle their loonies and just never bring the tropic up again and at least pretend to care about doing something about the economy. Every time they speak about it it just reminds voters what the GOP has been up to.

If there's no "war on women" why does Romney want to take benefits away from mothers who stay at home with their kids?Poor women who stay at home to raise their children should be given federal assistance for child care so that they can enter the job market and "have the dignity of work," Mitt Romney said in January, undercutting the sense of extreme umbrage he showed when Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen quipped last week that Ann Romney had not "worked a day in her life."
The remark, made to a Manchester, N.H., audience, was unearthed by MSNBC's "Up w/Chris Hayes," and aired during the 8 a.m. hour of his show Sunday.
Ann Romney and her husband's campaign fired back hard at Rosen following her remark. "I made a choice to stay home and raise five boys. Believe me, it was hard work," Romney said on Twitter.
Mitt Romney, however, judging by his January remark, views stay-at-home moms who are supported by federal assistance much differently than those backed by hundreds of millions in private equity income. Poor women, he said, shouldn't be given a choice, but instead should be required to work outside the home to receive Temporary Assistance for Needy Families benefits. "[E]ven if you have a child 2 years of age, you need to go to work," Romney said of moms on TANF.
Recalling his effort as governor to increase the amount of time women on welfare in Massachusetts were required to work, Romney noted that some had considered his proposal "heartless," but he argued that the women would be better off having "the dignity of work" -- a suggestion Ann Romney would likely take issue with.
"I wanted to increase the work requirement," said Romney. "I said, for instance, that even if you have a child 2 years of age, you need to go to work. And people said, 'Well that's heartless.' And I said, 'No, no, I'm willing to spend more giving day care to allow those parents to go back to work. It'll cost the state more providing that daycare, but I want the individuals to have the dignity of work.'"

Perhaps Ann and Mitt should get together and decide on which message they are going to tell people.

So polls are good predictors of the election outcome now?

No. I just thought it would be fun to post a reputable poll showing Romney ahead in a thread where Oerdin was swearing he could never catch up to Obama.

But I'm sure that the same types of things are being posted on the MSNBC and CNN comments sections.

I'm particularly amused by the ways they evade (what I presume to be) a mod or autocensor.

"The subject of onanism is inexhaustable." --Sigmund Freud

Wait, since when does anyone care about what people post in the comments? Also, that's like saying that you shouldn't read Harry Potter, since as a reader you are in bad company with other readers who write erotic fanfiction of Hermione getting sodomized over a desk by Snape.

What would be so bad about Alan Rickman nailing Emma Watson? As candidate for the office of OT President, I would attempt to see this made reality
President Asher would only promote his gay agenda by attempting to enact Dumbledore-Snape slash fics. On the other hand, this might need to be explored as a Ben-deterrence strategy, as he would probably spend so much time jacking off to it that he wouldn't have time to post. We may need a more nuanced approach...

fox news has had a long run of avoiding a moderator or admin for a long time now, when we were in our wreck, they posted my kid's names (incorrectly) and ages along with a pic that they got from i don't even know where while we were in the hospital. the comments section was unreal...lots of people siding up with the drunk cop who was in our lane and landed us in the hospital and some of it was just awful (not much else to do but be on the computer when there is a bolt running through your leg securing you to a hospital bed lol...) none of the comments were ever acted on by fox that i know of. at least the other 2 major news stations around here made an attempt....of course since it is an archive to ancient history all comments have been removed now, but o well.
