I've never understood the compulsion to water-down a joint by adding tobacco.
If I want a cigarette I'll have a cigarette...

in places where people use tobacco in their joints the figure would be much higher. in my smoking days i would expect to get at least 80-100 joints out of one ounce. i smoked joints, with the occasional blunt thrown in, mostly because i liked the actual smoking of the joint as well as the feeling from the mj. as you say though, people have different preferences and so the numbers will vary.

i always found 'pure' joints to be too harsh and therefore less enjoyable to smoke.
i suppose it mostly depends on what you get used to smoking. different strokes and all that...

Well, a comparative study between the USa and the No 1 european country of free marijuana consumption (also calles "The Netherlands")
didnīt show any significant differences in patterns of marijuana consumption in these 2 countries (all in all it even showed, that a lesser percentage of people in the netherlands consumed pot or other drugs)

http://www1.ucsc.edu/currents/03-04/...rug_study.html
Of course this doesnīt automatically mean, that legalization of pot use within the USA wouldnīt lead to a skyrocketing drug abuse ... after all it might be that there are psychological differences between citizens of the netherlands and the USA and that people in the netherlands just have a more sane approach to drugs compared to people in the USA ...
but if we assume that such psychological/mental differences donīt exist this study indicates, that there wonīt be any big long term changes in drug consumption
(however we also have to take into account that the marijuana sale within the netherlands isnītn totally unregulated ... legally they can only be sold in coffee shops (and also have to be consumed there) and they are also still expensive (partially due to the fact that the possession of large amounts of pot ist still illegal, which means that the drug runners who supply the shop still are at risk of getting asrrested by the policeso it isnīt exactly comparable to the situation that Dr. Strangelove depicted [where pot is as cheap and available as normal cigarettes])

You just keep throwing softballs, don't you.

Of course I go days at a time without seeing the sun. I live in freaking Canada....

Are the usage levels higher on the west coast where pot is sorta socially acceptable compared to the east coast where it is less so?
It is amazing to see the difference, actually, between friends/relatives on the different coasts.

A little bit of difference.
Still not 'unreasonable'.

Let me explain something to you. In states where it is illegal to carry pot for personal use first time offenders get to go through rehabilitation. If they fail rehabilitation they need to go to prison. It's the best thing for them, maybe the only thing that will break the addiction and give them a chance for a normal life mkay.

Isn't he?
I would recommend pot smoking for most but Kid would be an exception. It's obvious that with his existing problems he wouldn't be able to deal with it.
I'd pay to be a fly on the wall at his shrink's office just so I could hear the diagnosis. I'm curious to know his condition.

Actually habitual drug users are prone to mental illness much moee than those who don't use drugs.

Your bad luck is it? You hit the odds without the pot?

I've heard schizophrenia.
It could be hard to determine however as I'm sure many drug users are self-medicating (i.e. the drug didn't cause the condition).

II'm betting I eat better and get more exercise than you potheads as well. What is crazy?

I can list a lot of ways I'm better simply becaude I'm not stupid enough to do pot.

"Eat better"? Possibly. Money isn't an option but I make lazy food choices. I'd do that with or without the pot.
"Exercise"? Absolutely, Stairs are about it for me.
On the other hand, despite copious amounts of drug use over the years I never once believed in imaginary beings and have thus far avoided any serious mental illness.
I also don't **** giraffes.
