    Ooo, run-off voting. I'm down with that. In that case, I'm cool with 2, 3, 1, but ONLY if we find some way to make resources more meaningful. With a huge map like that, it'll be way too easy for everyone to get all the resources. Are there any mods that modify the impact of resources based on population/manufacturing levels? That would be cool.

    Or make them disappear from overuse, or randomly disappear...

    Or limit certain resource to certain areas of the map... Like put all the coal in North America and have little or no Aluminum so that you need AluminumCo to get fighters...

    Can we play with the NextWar mod? That would be fun.

    Should stick to a smaller region of the world then. I'm still up for the Japan or East China Sea scenario. I can make the map if needed. We could pick up somewhere in the warring states period (medieval period), maybe making it a bit ahistorical with separate Korean and a couple Chinese players.

    We are deciding on what map to use for the game. Either we play the 1000 AD scenario, we use the same map as the 1000 AD scenario, but start a clean game from 4,000 BC, or we go with a world map that is twice as big.

    Is there any chance of getting 16 players at this point for a C4 game? Not to get into a loop (I think we've discussed this before), but it took us some time and another board just to get the 10 or so for G&H and already we've lost a couple there (one has been replaced, I'm subbing the other). The guy being subbed actually is doing quite well (imo better than me, and he'll be #1 in city count in a few turns with a solid economy behind it), and it's early in the game without any sure borders or alliances or anything yet, but still we don't have a permanent sub, despite having looked around.

    So, if we can't get a sub for that and we maxed out at 10 there, and if about a third to a half of the DoE players quit with another third effectively out by the end of that game last August, where are these 16-18 players coming from now?

    I'd love another large MP game on Civ4 with the diplo approach, but is that feasible now? Do we have the interested player base to sustain a 16+ player MP diplogame? To dedicate a year plus to something so involved takes a certain type of rarer player. For a game that's been out for 6-7 years now, an ever rarer player...

    Subbing for Milus in G&H, not DoF. For once, I'm not subbing anyone in a diplogame in DoF

    Still up for a smaller game, though with the tighter player base I'm going to be a quite weaker player by comparison, I think

    On the modding front, I have a random bone to pick... Why is it the regular subs that carry Missiles and the NUCLEAR subs that carry spies? It should be the other way around. That should be modded out in the next game. Especially since all the great Espionage boosters come out right around the time that subs do. That way you can use your subs to sneak spies into other countries. Theres no other way to do it unless you share borders... Otherwise they just get caught crossing other people's territory.

    Hi guys,

    The Civ4 Diplo game "Gods & Heroes" with the custom mod from Calanthian is looking for a perma-sub.
    The game plays around the ancient Greece territory.

    The Mod does not alter basic gameplay and techs. It has some custom civs with custom units.
    The postion of Milete is still early game and very viable.
