Some mice (e.g. logitech mice) have software that you can install to control mouse speed etc.

I just put together a computer for my friend, and the cursor is acting drunk. Right now the cursor doesn't stop when the mouse stops. So far we've tried out using a different mouse, and it's not a problem with that. I remember that Windows used to have acceleration settings, along with the speed setting, but I can't find it anymore. Is there some way to adjust the precision of the mouse, other than the speed setting?

If you don't have an installation CD, or even if you do, have you checked the obvious?

I have checked the obvious. The Mouse settings let you adjust speed, and there's a button called "Enhance pointer precision" but that doesn't fix it.

sounds like crappy mouse and wireless lag.
We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.

I have some excess lag wire that I could send to you.

It's not wireless, and the mouse works just fine on other computers.

USB or PS2?
If USB, update USB drivers.

Check the registry. Google for "regedit mouse acceleration".

I think it was on the Lag of a computer because your mouse is having a slow movement.
