  • One more player needed for a game of Diplomacy

Hey, I'm setting up a game of Diplomacy (the board game) on another forum (rpg.net) and I've got six people signed up to play and three people who want to be alternates. The six are a mix of newbies and veterans and the three are newbies who want to be able to watch a game in progress a bit before they play. So I'm a bit stuck at six and am looking for one more player. Any of you up for it?

Diplomacy is an awesome board game based on the run-up to WW I in which negotiation and backstabbing take a priority over tactical maneuvering. The rules are dead simple and are available here: http://www.wizards.com/avalonhill/rules/diplomacy.pdf
    Shorter explanation here: http://www.playdiplomacy.com/help.ph...xtensive_Rules

It's going to be a vanilla game (four days or moves, 2 days for builds and retreats) with the following two house rules:
    1. If someone doesn't send in their orders, I write up default orders for them instead of having their units not move. I'll have these orders continue doing whatever the player was doing before and be as vanilla as possible.
    2. No draws. If nobody has won by the end of the 14th year then whoever has the most supply centers at that point is declared the winner. If there's a tie, then whoever had the most supply centers at the end of the 13th year is used as the tiebreaker, etc.

Anyone want to play? There used to be quite a few diplomacy players on poly...

      Um, ASAP.
As soon as you register as the rpg.net forums (you'll need to do that to play the game), I'll roll up country assignments and get the game going.

Game thread there: http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?t=565601 just post "hi" or something in that thread and I'll start things up. If you need any help with the rules, send me a PM on either forum.
