    I don't understand, why not? is there away you can transfer ctp2 stuff to call to power 1 so that way you could use pedrunn's unfinished space scenario as a starting point for a space scenario? I really think a space scenario add on for your mod would be a great boost for your mod and would make your mod more exellent.

    Yep, and it worked every time, especially when you had the ships with the extra crew modules on. Perfect for both invading and taking ships.

    BTW, I am now totally hooked on another game (as a turn based strategy nerd as I am I had to have something else before you had the final version ready) called Battle for Wesnoth. Try it out, its really good and....*drumroll*.....its totally free

    gameobj.cpp error no such id 0

    I get this error when i click on the new units in game, any idea's

    gameobj.cpp

    No such id 0 game crashes out when i click on

    It looks like a missing file to me. Or one of the files was corrupted?

    Anyway, seeing as nobody else seems to have this problem, I suggest reinstalling everything and trying again. Also remember to use the correct version of the game.

    Hey!
    Great mod, even if i have a problem. I can't use (or produce), and neither can the computer, all the new unit. I can produce everything else, all the new buildings, new gvt,... but not the new unit. Any idea?

    Unfortunately, I have no clear idea what may cause this; this has never been reported and is indeed weird. The only thing I can think of is the the Units.txt file is missing.

    The only thing I can recommend at this point is reinstalling the game and readding the mod (the latest one, which is at

    Thank you answering so fast. Finalaly, it started to work, after a few (3 or 4) "uninstall" "install". Why? Not a clue, but it work, and i don't have the unit problem anymore.

    I'm getting the error "civ3.ldl not found in asset tree" when I try to start the game. I have deleted the default and english foldes in ctp_data folder and replaced them wth the folders in the 1.6 zip file. Any suggestions?

    Hmm, this file should be in the \Call to Power\ctp_data\english\uidata\layouts. I'm away from home now, so I don't know if this file is in the mod or not, but it shouldn't be - we haven't modified the ldl files. I suggest you get it from the vanilla game.

    We were quiet since there were rumours about the new version of the mod being drastically unstable... And I haven't got the time or energy to dive into the code again. YET it works just fine for me, same for Solar, if you're not experiencing (unusual) crashes, we just need the 4th person... Maybe Quinns... or somebody else for whom the mod works, 4 players is the minimum, not the maximum Then we'll be ready to go. I'm missing playing this game.

We should be ready to start within a week, there's a couple of young Americans I'm trying to lure in as well, 6 or 7 players? That'd be sweet.

    Then I'd vote for using no wonders in this new game (as we used to do in the challenge ladder matches of old) at least until we are sure the wonders don't skew the game too much -- as they vastly did in our first test game of this new mod. And if you plan on 7 players, be prepared to constantly be replacing players who drop out or are no shows after a few turns.

    Um, I wasn't clear enough. I meant, we've put a lot of effort into balancing them out, basing on the experiences of the last game. To the point where I believe only a game like this might tell if they're really well done. Of course, if one player gets a lead, he'll be building them all, but what can you do? Otoh, without the wonders, there are substantially fewer ways in which the early game can be played.
    And by skewing, you mean the infamous Teocracy/Hagia Sophia combo? H.S. now has its cost doubled and decreases overall Science by 20%. The Chichen Itza is obsoleted by Agri Rev, as well as only cuts the Crime by 75%.

    It's more of a balancing quickfix to the 1.6 version (even the saves are going to be valid). We'll try to get it done within a couple of days.

    Here's an update to the 1.61 version (1.6 required, as per download link provided several posts earlier by Solar). Take time to familiarize yourself with this another step to make this mod perfect

    A list of changes:
    Governments:
    The Glory of Rome (Imperium) boosted from +3 to +5
    Republic: production reduced to 100%, but gained the ability to build Slavers.
    Cultism: lost the ability to build Slavers.

    Wonders:
    - some general price balancing
    Chichen Itza cuts Crime by 75% instead of 100%
    Great Library: reduced effectivity to +100% Scientist yield, but also gives a chance to learn foreign advances.
    Forbidden City: Complete overhaul. No Food Bonus. Happiness fixed at 75. +100 military upkeep costs. The No Embassies thing stays.
    Confucius Academy: In addition to the old, cosmetical bonus, it protects vs. Spies now, but increases Crime by 25%
    Hagia Sofia: Double cost. Disallows Specialists now. The main bonus unchanged.
    Philosopher's Stone: No Embassies (because Magellan does that). Instead, a 5% chance for a free Advance each turn.
    Edison's Lab: Obsoleted by Electronics to deny weaseling out of massive Quantum Mechanics research cost. In return, effectivity raised from 10% to 15%
    Internet: Instead of the old effect (neither useful nor reasonable at this point of game), 10 gold per inter-civ trade routes, and nullifies capitol distance penalties.
    AI Entity: Long avaited overhaul. Instead of the old effect, free improvement upkeep up to 50 gold, at a cost of 4 happiness (very useful for Cyberhive)

    Units:
    New Unit: Minefield. Sea and shore cities only. Immovable, cheap, defensive unit that can't be bombed from space.
    Spy Sat/Defcon Sat: Now the Defcon Sat can Actively Defend only when combined with a Spy Sat, to eliminate the abuse (build a defcon sat, but do not launch it). It still can be thrown at space units.

    Buildings:
    Some price balancing (cheaper Hospital, Town Hall and Oil Refinery, more expensive Financial Center).
    THe Power Grid gained +6 defense boost, to make Sea and Space cities harder to conquer.
    The Colisseum grants extra +1 Happiness to Cultism, Tyranny, Imperium and Corporate Republic.

    Library:
    As usual, a lot of bug-fixing.

    Why don you put the mod into a rar file, which compresses better than a zip file and upload it to our CTP1 mods download section, there you can add up to 250 MB or rar files and don't need unreliable third party hosting.

    Thanks for the tip. The reason that the mod isn't there yet is because it's still work in progress; in a week or two we should have a new, complete version, then we'll upload an official release.

    As for the *.rar format, it's quite natural, I agree. We're avoiding .rar because some people seem to not have it (yes, I'm as amazed as you are), but maybe we'll do it anyway.
