The original only came out in the UK last year (it's a 2009 movie) and was totally awesome. The remake? Well, they're usually crap. However it does have a few things going for it: David Fincher (probably because of Se7en) and a strong cast including Daniel Craig, who bears more than a passing resemblance to the Swedish actor he's playing. It's the first of a trilogy.
    Saw it
    Very good.

Whatever. You are right by definition, however I take issue with the fact that it's issue to audiences is 2011...

Speaking of Craig - the next Bond flic is slated for 2012. He makes a good Bond but for the sake of all Bond fans out there let's hope it's more Casino and less Quantum.

You will get varied answers on that. Generally the older they are, the better they are.

My personal favourite (for sentimental reasons) is For Your Eyes Only.

The one I think is the best? On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

I loved Lazenby's opening comment to the camera - "This never happened to the other fellow" (or something to that affect).

Now that Guy Ritchie and Madonna are done maybe he can get back to making great movies. That past her prime skank sucked him of all artistic talent.

Part of that particular irony is that I haven't seen the original to compare yet. I thought the CGI was a bit poor, but apart from that...

I know I'm late to this, but Kung Fu Panda was surprising great . As good as Pixar (though not to Wall-E heights).

And the reason people focus on sequels right now is because most people don't know much about really great movies until they are closer to release (for example this time last year I had little idea what "Inception" was about). With sequels, they know they liked the original.

Kung Fu Panda was a box of cliches and stock characters poured over one of those Chinese landscape paintings you can buy at a night market.
