It's called "assume" in English. You know what they say about assuming...

At 1:20, he messes up... his Italian-ness comes out. Notice how he pronounces syllables right there.

I'm not going to use up my limited bandwidth watching that, but I'm sure Charlie Chaplin's preemptive "retort" in Modern Times was funnier. You can probably find that on youtube as well, I think it's the one time he sang onscreen.

With effort, I can actually force my brain not to find meaning in the words I hear. Then I hear English the way non-native speakers do.

I agree with Lori and Kuci. I found that my brain was attempting to parse the non-words. It was...disturbing. But cool. But also disturbing.

I encountered this a few years ago, and looked further into it. The guy was an Italian pop icon who was a big fan of American music (especially Elvis), but was unhappy that many Italians were following American music without bothering to understand what was actually being sung, instead listening to it because it was fashionable to do so.

He made up this faux-english song to tweak them, and much to his chagrin it became a smash hit.
"We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work...After eight years of this Administration, we have just as much unemployment as when we started... And an enormous debt to boot!" — Henry Morgenthau, Franklin Delano Roosevelt's Treasury secretary, 1941.
