We have a different name for the war.

We have a different name for the war.

Incan histories proffer the following:
The Great War began with the sack of English cities and culminated in the Israeli "backstabbing".
The Great War ended in an uneasy cease-fire, followed by about 100 years of relative peace.
The War on Israel began after this, directly connected to but not a part of the Great War.
The War on Israel was concluded, then the Second Great War began, lasted a brief time, and ended with a fairly diplomatic flourish that saw most of the gains of the Great War erased for the Central Powers.
Now, the only current conflict is the Japanese Consolidation.

Shouldn't this be in the Story thread?
Anyway, I disagree... Russia and France remained at War from when France declared War on England, until after Israel surrendered, so Turkish history would likely show that there was one War, which arguably is still going, continuing on into the current India-Japan conflict, which is clearly related to the Great War at least if not a continuation of it.

Pretty much everyone that didn't participate is better off given that the top contenders all beat themselves silly and leveled the playing field.
Natives, China, Zulu, etc, etc, all benefited also.
At present, I can safely say the war has cost me thousands of gold tonnes.
Happy birthday Rhothaerill!!!!

Anyway loans are gain, not "cost" as you get a return on them, but I agree that the War was costly for all involved. Even those who benefit had to give up a lot to get those gains.

@Ottomans.
Nice story.I wish I'd thought to use that. What's Opera Doc is one of my favorite Bugs Bunny cartoons.
Can we change the name of the last war to the War of Viking, French, Neandor and Israeli Aggression and Betrayal?
Though I admit that The Great War is catchier.

Japan is not in a war of aggression only of expantion.

Consolidation.
Apparently I was a little late to the story thread today?![]()

There is only one War. The current conflict between Japan and India is arguably a new one but there is no way to reasonably argue that the first war ever ended when France never made Peace with Russia (or England IIRC) and was in possesion of the Entire Viking and Neandor Navy. The war was just continuing full swing by proxy.
France made peace with England and returned our cities. England considers the Great War to be over. Japan vs. India may be related, but we consider it a different war.

I can certainly appreciate the English Analysis. But that still agrees with my point that the treaty between England France Valhalla Turkey Russians and Neandor was the end of the war, not the cease fire between Israel and Turkey, since the war was still going on between England France and Russia

The US and N Korea are still technically at war, but given that no one has shot anyone in like 50 years, we don't call it as such.
There was a very long period of time where troops under English/Russian/Ottoman banners never attacked or were attacked by those under Viking/French banners. Simple as that in our analysis.

Nope, the hostilities never ended between England, France and Russia till now. Despite not fighting great battles for about 5-10 turns after the battle at Erkon Oasis Hills, the preparations and the tactical outdance never stopped.

I am aware that there was some dancing going on, but that's still different than an actual campaign. No campaigns for decades = peace in my book.

It was campaigning - gathering all those units in place and waiting/looking/searching for a chance to actually destroy the opposing armies. But this isnt too important. The main thing is that we finally have peace (with small exceptions)![]()

You can well say "damn Georgii" too![]()
