Another good site is the TW beginners guide at:

Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.

            More Usefull URL's

It's nice to see new players interested in Tradewars. If you want to do some reading before the game starts to hone your skills, here are a few good URL's for basic strategy and tactics.

Boy, it's been a while since there was a post around here and I was having trouble with one of the links above. The http://www.firaxis.com/fun/tw2002/telnet.cfm link and the http://www.firaxis.com/fun/tw2002 link seem to be broken. I've tried reaching both with my browser AND with my telnet client to no avail. Does Firaxis still run a tradewars game or are those links DOA? Thanks

Seems the Firaxis TW universe has sadly imploded. Well, it was good while it lasted.

                    Kokua TW Client

I just discovered a very nice open-source Java tradewars client that even has graphical mapping. It's called "Kokua" and you can find it at http://www.twdata.org/kokua/. This is an excellent client for beginners: it looks great and is easy to use.

Another great tradewars program, called TWX Proxy, is not a client but acts as a proxy server between your client and the tradewars server, and this opens up a whole range of new functionality. It's particularly good for corporations, since it allows for a much greater degree of in-game co-operation and communication. The basic proxy and script pack 1 is free, and an additional script pack containing some very powerful tools is priced at $30 US. Visit the TWX Proxy homepage for more information.

So will this game only have polytubbies in it or will we be playing against other people as well. If others are playing then may I suggest we form an Apolyton Corporation so that we can out spend the other guys.

While that'd be cool, this game is Apolyton only, though I have nothing against outforummers joining in as long as they post in the registration forum.

You might check out the corporations thread if you are interested in corping. There'll definitely be some new corporations organizing prior to the bang, so put your name down there, and whether you're interested in playing with a good or evil corp and we'll see.

This site is seriously intense.. The Tradewars Cabal has very advanced formulas and strategies, as well as a few scripts... thought I'd post the link in case anyone is smart enough to glean something from it (I wasn't!)
