OOC: I'm still not sure how these vouchers work ... it seems I always end up losing more than I expect, regardless I'm reporting a trade with Persia. Just let me know what the damage is.

The tricky thing is that giving a tech away costs 1 voucher.
Receiving a tech doesn't cost a voucher.
Therefore the receiver mostly compensates the giver by giving 1 voucher.

Mostly it's like this:
Tech giver:
- gives 1 tech and loses 1 voucher (to the game)
- receives 1 voucher from receiver
result: no change to vouchers (-1 and +1 = 0)

Tech receiver:
- receives 1 tech
- gives 1 voucher to the tech giver
result: -1 voucher

I hope that losing 1 voucher is not more then you expected Arabia

And a gift/sale of a tech to Byzantium. -1 voucher for Byzantium, no change for Rome.
