Do I have a chance at making it to graduate school?

I hate research. Also I'm not really planning on applying to any. Is there a chance I'll get in anyway?

Basically anyone can get into CompSci grad school. Just depends how good of a school it is.

But you don't want to. I had considered it myself, several of my friends have done it...there's no point. The extra year or two of work experience is more valuable in learning stuff, in addition to compensation.

There are some doors opened by a PhD, just like with a JD or MD. The question is if Kuci wants into any of those places?

b-school's for people who already are on the way up and who need to pad their resume. he should work for 5-10 years beforehand if he doesn't want to do anything else (e.g. law)

Plus, there is a statute of limitations of 3ish years (depending on state). Once you file I can declare bankruptcy to stop you from receiving a judgment. Just have to make sure I party it up in the meanwhile so as not to leave any money on the table.

Of course, but supposing I file in two years and 350 days, a Chapter 7's automatic stay doesn't necessarily bar a tort suit as it would a creditor's contract suit. For example, I've seen people go bankrupt to weasel out of a debt only to be successfully sued for fraud in the inducement of the very same debt. Loopholes are beautiful things.

What you're really better off doing is buying a gold-plated mansion in Florida and owning no other assets, because that freak state's statutes make the homestead - any homestead - completely hands-off. If Madoff weren't on the hook criminally it would have been the way to go.

Meh, it seems like its not so much applicability of the stay as the likelihood of the bleeding-heart judge's granting relief from stay when a drooling quadriplegic Kuci gets rolled into the courtroom. Same difference.

I've been there, done that and walked away. In hindsight the only thing I would change is starting the damn thing in the first place. Academia was never for me.
