For our last game we had five downloads and four submissions. This one was a little more clear cut than the novice league with Sarco grabbing top spot in convincing domination style. JungleIII comfortably took silver, also with a domination victory, while Sarek nipped bronze with a healthy time victory. Congrats gents!!

Oh well, it was an interesting game
Madrid not only had Iron nearby, it was also the Christian Holy City, so adopted that as my state religion.
I had decided that the Ottomans just to the north would be my next target, and was just about ready to launch my invasion, when the Romans dropped by and asked for help in their war with the Mongols. Since I was still going for a domination win at this point, and I was somewhat more advanced than the Mongols, I decided one target was as good as the next, and agreed to help the Romans. 20/20 hindsight, this was most likely a mistake. The Mongol and Roman islands were far to the south and right next to each other. Took an extra turn or two to get my forces down there, but I invaded Mongol and captured a couple of their cities pretty quick. Next thing I know, the Romans make peace with the Mongols, and a turn or two later, declare war on me
are strong believers in that old Klingon proverb: Revenge is a dish best served cold! After a few turns of consolidating my gains on the Mongol island, it payback time. I declare war on the Romans, and capture Rome and one other city they had on a single tile island. Rome was also the Hindu Holy city, so I got their capitol and shrine too
Sometime between the first two Roman wars, I got a random event that let me convert four of my cities and four Roman cities to Christianity. I made peace with Rome, and tried to get along with them, and even though they converted to my religion, the relationship was always poor. I tried to improve relations by giving back the one tile island city, since it was always going into revolt anyway, but that was a mistake, since it allowed the Roman cultural borders to completely surround Rome. So I declared war on the Romans again, recaptured the one tile island city, and captured two more Roman cities, one of which was sitting on a nice Uranium deposit. This gave my Roman cities some breathing room, so I made peace with the Romans again.
