    Novice Game 31 Discussion Thread

    Novice League Game 31 has closed for submissions. Please feel free to discuss your game in as much detail as you want. The more we talk, the more we can learn from each others successes and failures......

    Congratulations to Swissy for a narrow cultural victory!! Conmcb25 takes second spot, just beating Metaliturtle into third place.....

      Honestly I wound up plunking down useless cities to make this victory.

        Congrats everyone!
        I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

          I had to put down three cities just to cover, two in the scattered island group and one up on the medium sized tundra island.

          I threw out two cities quick and went for picking up religions. Them made the build up to take out Lincoln. As I got my Conquistadors it was time to sweep the continent. Lincoln was almost to much of a push-over, rarely with more than 4 units per city. Was making contact with the others as Lincoln was falling fast. On the culture front, my third culture city was almost as much as some of the other capitals.

          With Lincoln gone I went at satisfying the culture control condition. I got lucky nobody dropped a city in the island group. I had to pop a few cities at the end as some of the cities in the small islands didn't cover their full area due to the water.

            Did you guys like to extra conditions for victory or not?

            Is it something you would like to see more of in the future?

              Yes and yes.

              I had to play the game differently than I normally would, and think about how I would get there.

              A very nice change of pace
