Music Video downloads for free?

I have really enjoyed YouTube in last couple years.

I was wondering, are there any services for free, legal like, where you can download videos and save them to say an external hard drive for later viewing?

But, when I go to say my computer and follow the path where the folder is, I cant "see" my saved file folder but canwhen i go through youtubedownloader, when converting.

Suggestions on how to view them?

I have had no success, tried several including Orbit,Youtube, 1 click youtubedownloader, and a couple otjhers.

They either hang up or CRASH

Any suggestions, even if i need to purchase a program that can download and convert so I will allways have them in a library

They wouldnt have to be YouTube, could be from any number of a multitude of various sites with Videos

Go through the program to convert.

The top option is for downloading from You Tube, and you put the url.

Use the second option, Convert Video, and browse to it, under Select Video File.

I choose Optimal quality.

I found out how

I needed to make it Classic menu

Ok, good. It downloads in what I assume is a You Tube specific format. It downloads to wherever you tell it to download.
