In December of this year PolyCast, an official podcast of Apolyton Civilization Site (ACS), will complete its second season. Before then, it is hoped that it would have at least been one of the top 10 nominees in both the "Best Produced" and "Gaming" categores for the 2008 PodCast Awards which is now accepting nominations until 23:59PM Hawaiian Standard Time on September 30th.
As noted in the rules of the awards process, 40% of each nominated podcast's review grade comes from the number of nominations received during the 15-day nomination period. Therefore, to ensure PolyCast has the best opportunity to be one of the top 10 nominees to then be voted upon during a 15-day period afterwords itself as many legitimate nominations need to be submitted for the show itself! When nominating, please follow the data below for both the "Best Produced" and "Gaming" categories:
Podcast Name: PolyCast
Podcast URL: http://polycast.apolyton.net/polycast
On behalf of the PolyCast team, please do not nominate the show for anymore than the "Best Produced" and "Gaming" categories: the aim is to focus nominations in these categories and these categories alone. Do not submit PolyCast for more than these two categories as that would invalidate your nomination. Further, please use the "Comments" field to help the reviewing team understand why you feel PolyCast is deserving of being nominated in both the "Best Produced" and "Gaming" categories. Be certain to include your name and a valid email address to ensure the verification and in turn validity of your vote.
PolyCast is a bi-weekly audio production of ACS is an ongoing effort to give the Civilization community an interactive voice on game strategy. Thanks in advance to all of those who decide to vote for PolyCast in the "Best Produced" and "Gaming" categories for the 2008 PodCast Awards.

And if Dale DOES choose self exile, then 'poly just lost another one of their star gaming contributors, and that's a pity, since this is still a gaming site.

Although I've visited the forum for years, I'd never really listened to the polycasts.
The Sid Meier interview caught my attention, and being a long time fan of Colonization, the one with the developers discussing Civ4: Col was really awesome. I'll be tuning in from now on, you can count on it, and I've also started listening to some of the older ones.
I've always been a big fan of SM's games, especially Civ, Colonization, but also RRT and SMAC. I think Civ IV: BtS was Civilization perfected, so it'll be interesting to see where they go from here. With Colonization being my all time favorite, I'm really excited about the remake!
Anyway, keep up the good work![]()

, so no worries.
Greetings, new listener!

We were hopeful that with the release of Episode 50 with Sid that PolyCast would gain some new listeners beyond that episode, with the same being said for our Civ4Col special.

I'm certain you'll find at least some, if not a decent majority, of the content of our older episodes to be relevant still today... and hopefully always entertaining at least. We consider it a bonus that you enjoyed what you heard enough to go back and listener to parts of our show's Archive too.
On behalf of the PC team, thank you kindly.Anyway, keep up the good work![]()

Done.
Good Luck!
:fingerscrossed:
I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

I nominated PolyCast. Surprisingly, I said some very nice things about Dan's work publishing and editing the show. (So, do I win a prize?)
I didn't even mention how wonderful Cartimandua is on the show, although I was sorely tempted.![]()

My comments:
But what I don't understand is why you wanted us to nominate Polycast in the Inspirational Religious category.Polycast is a well produced and entertaining podcast. Of particular note is that in addition to the regular co-hosts, most shows involve different folks from the gaming community, which adds new insight and perspectives. Two thumbs up!![]()

My comments:
PolyCast is important as well effective in informing its diverse fanbase on topics covering the various civilization series, from interviews by developers and modmakers to upcoming proposed releases.
It is done not only in an easy to listen to and understand format, but in a relaxed atomosphere that allows those participating to show personality traits we can all identify with.
Whether your an expert or a novice, Polycast provides many topics to enjoy and then implement at a later time. I personally have learned many new techniques and pondered numerous more that will certainly open eyes.
The dedication is to be commended in producing this, many dedicated regulars as well as talented volunteers who contribute on occasions less regular than the core team.
Late breaking news or fan-based scenarios and mods, Polycast keeps you thoroughly covered!
We should all be thankful for the contributions this production makes in enlightening its listeneres in a more enjoyable gaming experience.

My comments:
PolyCast creates both entertaining and informing podcasts about the Civilization games and everything that relates to civilization. It's being recorded simultaneously by people from different places on different continents. Despite these distance-troubles it is able to create a very good quality show every two weeks for two years already.

So when will we know the results of the top ten nominees?

GT, CS
.
No specific date has yet been disclosed as to when the Top 10 nominees in each category will be publicly announced and the two-week voting period will begin, but based on details on the review and voting process, I'd say mid-October. Once I know more, I will follow-up in this thread on that.Originally posted by Methos
