Spore Creature Contest

It's just about a month until release, but since we've already got the Creature Editor how about a small contest?

Each player may enter two creatures (Remember to name them). These creatures should be sent to me by PM (the small image that is shown on the Sporepedia page). If the creature is uploaded to the servers just send me the link to the creature.

In about one week the contest begins (unless there's not enough participants), which might go something like this (unless someone posts a better idea):

I will create several polls (with two or three creatures each). You will then have a few days to vote for your favorite creatures. Everybody is allowed to vote (that is including those who didn't send me a creature) and you're allowed to vote for your own creature

After first round, the winner from each poll will go on to next round (depending on number of creatures, that could be final round)


After the final round, the winner wins the right to brag about making the creature that dominated the polls


You're allowed to use any item in your version of the Creature Editor (so if you paid for it, you may use the extra features)
I will allow any type of creature you make (so if you're into Sporn I wont disqualify your creatures)

I like this. I also think that you should avoid posting the creators' names, so this is a "blind taste test," if you will.

On second thought, this is probably going to be impossible. As most of the creatures can be found by searching for Apolyton creatures, and since most of us are using 'Poly names on Spore it'll be very each to link each creature to each player

I didn't put the Apolyton tags on mine for this exact reason. Plus, don't use the creature names in the thread - just Creature A B C D E F, etc etc.

I find the creature creater hard to use properly, people are making things I can understand how are possible. Unfortunately my creatures are lost, I hadn't uploaded them to the internet and then my HP laptop decided to break on me for the fifth time in a little more than a year. It's my second replacement and this time I'll go for a refund and no more HP. But as a result the creatures are lost...

A good idea is to download other creatures and "dissemble" them piece by piece

Here's a hint that I've only seen few people use:

You can use ctrl to attach e.g. an arm to a leg (or vice versa). This opens up nice possibilities

A good way of finding creature tutorial is by searching creatortip in the Sporepedie

But people would still be able to find the players creatures easily. Just search for the names of the posters and in most cases someone from Apolyton will pop up

That's only an issue when your Apolyton name is the same as your Spore one

It's not as troubling as you think. People send you creatures. You take pictures of each one, and label em A, B, C, D, etc. People vote and someone wins. Then at the end, you say that Creature A is from Player A, and then show the original PNG file so people can download 'em.
