  • Internal Setup Poll #1 : Level of Setup Detail

OK, first things first, how much time and how many polls to we want to wade through in order to arrive at our final setup options??

Do we want to examine and vote on every single aspect of the setup process, do we want to vote on just the major settings, do we want to vote on just a handful of things, do we want to submit a descriptive brief only to Keygen, or do we want to leave everything in the hands of Keygen??

OK fellow bunnies, what are your thoughts???

We have 6 days to decide.........

My vote goes for 'Descriptive Brief Only'

Too many polls will lead to too much boredom, confusion and stagnation.
The Warlords DG took waaaaaaaay to long to setup, the game admin got confused and we ended up with a huge map with great tracks of land all around us.......
I think if each team submitted a one paragraph description of what they would like from the game, then we could distill those into one master brief to hand to Keygen and let him exercise some creativity in the map making process.
There will also not be too much micromanagment to get setting X, Y and Z to perfectly match Team A's desired civ choice. Let the dice fall where they may and let's make the best of the hand we get dealt by Keygen.....

I voted for handful of settings, but a brief description is what I had in mind...

I think we should vote on the major settings - a descriptive brief gives the "feel" - while the major settings are the framework the feel is built on IMO.

All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

Also - we have some time to kill - any word on when the latest patch will be released?

The main problem with too many polls IMO - is that most people get bored - and the few usual suspects (not us of course ) get to decise too much.

I think a god way to go with a bref description is to ask what people don't want to see. For example "I don't want to play with raging barbs" or "I don't want a archipelago map or pangea" That way Keygen knows what to avoid and still be pretty free to do something creative.

I like what Zoid and Nugog are proposing. Polls on the major settings with a brief on the dos and don'ts.

It looks like the Major's are winning!!

FYI, I voted for just a handful of settings.
