I could make your list for you but where's the fun in that?

For those that continue to claim they don't know 25 celebs (come on read the rules, the definition of "celeb" is a mile wide!) here are some useful sites.

    deadoraliveinfo.com

    http://www.deathlist.net/

    http://www.thedeadpool.com/

    http://www.cash4cadavers.com/

and links at the bottom of the wiki article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_pool

Google "Dead Pool" for these and many other useful sites. Compiling a list can take anywhere from 15 minutes to several hours. The amount of time is really up to you.

I should point out, you can't go to Texas Death Row and reel off the next 25 names. They do not count as celebrity.
    Right, President Wezil?

No death row inmates. Rules 22 f) and g) pretty much cover those inclined to kill people.

    Rule 22

    f) Sorry, but no death row inmates may be chosen. If a celebrity dies while in prison, but not because of a state-sponsored execution, (killed in a prison riot by a fellow prisoner, suicide, etc.) that death will count for points.
    g) People charged with capital crimes are ineligible. Murderers who've gotten away (OJ Simpson), murderers still skirting justice and murderers not sentenced to death (Charles Manson) are eligible. Run-of-the-mill murderers don't count either.

Isn't the key to victory here, not picking old people, but picking people as young as possible who are known to engage in dangerous activities?

For example, young comedians who are also known to be drug abusers.

Athletes who plan to climb to the top of mount everest this year.

Famous people who are not old, but have lethal diseases.

    Etc?

Excellent observations. You've actually hit on a couple points here:

In the DeadPool community these are referred to as the "River Phoenix" picks. Young celebs living dangerous lives. The bonus as you note is their young age which leads to high points. The problem of course is that they are usually pretty healthy otherwise. It's like betting on the longshot. You'll probably lose but it's sweet if you don't.

Athletes who plan to climb to the top of mount everest this year.

Obviously strong contenders. Hence SlowwHand linking the Nascar site as a research aid.

Famous people who are not old, but have lethal diseases.

    Etc?
These are the usual picks. The trick of course is knowing what celebs are ill and just how ill they are.

You really do need to read the rules.

    I've covered most every contingency.

    Rule 21

    21. You may not go out and “help yourself” win. Basically, you cannot kill someone on your list to give yourself more points. any list. The penalty for violating this rule, in addition to any criminal charges brought upon you by the appropriate authorities, is a lifetime ban from the Off Topic Dead Pool.

    Yes, that is allowed.

I expect to see all 20 of the celebs on your list perish in the next year.

Can I vote that Vesayen goes totally brain dead within the year? I know, it's close on if there's activity now.
My belief is that since he can seemingly put together sentences, and it doesn't matter that they don't make shitsense, that he's lucid and breathing.

    Presuming you don't get caught...

Do you know any celebs you could persuade to "off" themselves in order to pad your score a little?

Galnemer and I were putting together a list last night, and literally the first name we came up with was Evel Knievel.

You'll get the list over the weekend...

It's not about celebration. NYE said that, too. It has nothing to do with celebrating.

I'm offended by the entire concept.

    Who's stupid idea was this?

I knew Knievel was ill but I thought he would defy death a little longer. He wasn't on any list yet.

    i know what happens.

a few months from now a celebrity will be shot in the face and bleed to death in agony just to be robbed.

Then hours later threads all across the world open up titled ,"BLAH BLAH BLAH RIP."

The next few posts will be "YES HE WAS ON MY DEAD POOL I GET 3 POINTS!!"

THe celeb was shot in the goddamn face and bled to death and yall are happy because you get 3 fragging points. Kinevel went the easy way but not everybody will. Even celebs yall think will be "Dead anyway" can meet with a tragic ending.

How many people had Terri Shaivo on their Dead Pool Lists?

What if she was raped and murdered on her death bed. Would yall be happy then??

It is tasteless and I will not be a part of this nonsense. This is like making a "Poly Poster Dead Pool," then cheering when one of us dies.

    AAHZ -

You apparently didn't read the rules.

Any celeb worth only three points isn't worth picking and Terry Shiavo wouldn't have been eligible.

As a final note - If you think OT obituary threads are places of great mourning you obviously haven't been paying attention. Dancing smilies aren't uncommon in those threads. Take a look at the Arafat thread for example.
"I have never killed a man, but I have read many obituaries with great pleasure." - Clarence Darrow
"I didn't attend the funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying I approved of it." - Mark Twain
