Thought I would start an ideas thread. We, the masses, could post ideas for scenarios, scoring structures, etc. Gathering all the ideas here might make life easier for RobWorham and Nugog.

Scenarios
Aside from the normal variants (Terra, One City Challenge, etc.) here are some different ideas.
Give Peace a Chance- Always peace, no barbarian love fest. Skill level could have different leaders. Novice- Gandhi, Advanced- Tokugawa. (I was thinking of this when I saw a fellow poster mention a love fest in another thread.)
Marriage Rules- Not only do you need to win, but you must establish a permanent alliance and that ally must survive to the end of the game. (Never played this, just came up with the idea while thinking of different twists.)Yes, negotiations could take some time.

you should definitely use normalized scores to determine winners, otherwise earlier victories aren't weighted.
the all peace game could be interesting. another great variant that i saw at realmsbeyond civ was that each player starts with any one tech of their choosing. very interesting turn out on that one.

.I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

RB would be http://realmsbeyond.net/civ/ which tries to avoid playing simply for high score or fastest finish.

I think this forum needs greater visibility to attract more players. One easy thing to do is to move this forum up to where the defunct Civ 4 HOF & SP Tournaments currently takes up space. When someone first logs on to the forums, only the first 4 (or 5 if bookmarks are minimized) are displayed without scrolling down. Furthermore, when entering the General/Help/Strategy forum, the next 3 forums are stickied at the top. (This currently includes the defunct Civ 4 HOF & SP Tournaments forum). I think having a forum that has not had a post in over a year in such a prominent place and one that directly competes with this forum is poor design. Frankly, the Civ 4 HOF & SP Tournaments forum should be deleted.

OK, we are now on game #10, and the tournament will soon have been running for 6 months, so do you guys have any comments on what maps or scenarios you'd like to see in the future???
Give us your feedback and we will see what we can do to incorporate them into the tournament........
Cheers!!

Apart from Boreal and Highlands not being too popular.....I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. One easy way of freshening things up I think would simply be to vary the size/number of opponents.
Could do something like smaller pangaea maps and only accept conquest wins, or large/huge maps (but up the tournament time from 2 weeks to a month or something).

Highlands wasn't that bad per se, it's the neighborhood people complain about. (I think).
That said, I'd really like to play a "regular" map again, one with terrain allowing a city grow past size 10
